About 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage G4
Americans don’t buy small cars with anywhere near the fervor they once did, instead opting for larger SUVs and trucks. There’s still a need for a fuel-efficient small car with an entry-level price tag, however, and some automakers are willing to answer the call. The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is a great example of affordability, but the car makes many sacrifices to achieve its price tag. ## What’s New for the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 The Mirage G4 didn’t get many updates for 2024, but there are a few notable changes. The LE trim now comes standard with a driver’s seat armrest, automatic headlights, and rain-sensing wipers. ## Design Mitsubishi hasn’t made many changes to the Mirage G4 or its hatchback cousin, [__the Mirage__](https://www.cargurus.com/research/2024-Mitsubishi-Mirage-c33067 "2024 Mitsubishi Mirage"), over the years. The car has picked up slightly more refined styling and a more aggressive front fascia, but it's otherwise the same vehicle we’ve seen for almost a decade. ## Powertrain The 2024 G4 comes standard with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine making just 78 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque. While that minuscule engine provides solid fuel economy of up to 43 mpg on the highway, it lacks anything even slightly resembling power. Around-town commuting is fine, but the car struggles to reach highway speeds, and passing once there takes way more effort than expected. ## Interior The Mirage G4 is a cheap car, and its interior quality reflects the bargain status. It offers five seats, but it's much more comfortable with an empty back seat. At the same time, Mitsubishi saved money with cheap materials, exposed metalwork inside the cabin, and not-so-nice feeling upholstery. ## Technology Mitsubishi equips a generous list of standard tech for the price. It comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen running Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Bluetooth, four speakers, and a 12-volt outlet are also standard. Higher trims add keyless entry with push-button start. Mitsubishi’s infotainment software is easy to use and fairly responsive, but it feels dated compared to the range of more recently updated interfaces. The upside is that the graphics and overall look don’t interfere with operations as they do with other, more complex systems. ## Safety The 2024 G4 comes standard with a short list of driver aids for the money. It comes with a rearview camera, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warnings. Parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, and lane-departure warnings are available. The last Mirage G4 to receive complete crash testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) was the 2023 model, which earned mixed reviews, pulling a “Marginal” score in small overlap front driver-side tests and an “Acceptable” in the side tests. ## Pricing As of this writing, the base 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 has a starting price of $17,795. Stepping up to the LE trim drives the price to $18,295, and the top SE starts at $19,295.

What’s New for the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage G4

The Mirage G4 didn’t get many updates for 2024, but there are a few notable changes. The LE trim now comes standard with a driver’s seat armrest, automatic headlights, and rain-sensing wipers.

Design

Mitsubishi hasn’t made many changes to the Mirage G4 or its hatchback cousin, the Mirage, over the years. The car has picked up slightly more refined styling and a more aggressive front fascia, but it's otherwise the same vehicle we’ve seen for almost a decade.

Powertrain

The 2024 G4 comes standard with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine making just 78 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque. While that minuscule engine provides solid fuel economy of up to 43 mpg on the highway, it lacks anything even slightly resembling power. Around-town commuting is fine, but the car struggles to reach highway speeds, and passing once there takes way more effort than expected.

Interior

The Mirage G4 is a cheap car, and its interior quality reflects the bargain status. It offers five seats, but it's much more comfortable with an empty back seat. At the same time, Mitsubishi saved money with cheap materials, exposed metalwork inside the cabin, and not-so-nice feeling upholstery.

Technology

Mitsubishi equips a generous list of standard tech for the price. Parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, and lane-departure warnings are available.
