Late in the 2007 model year, Hyundai added a new entry-level GLS trim to the Azera lineup, and it continues into the 2008 model year, joining the higher-end Limited trim. (The SE trim was dropped from the lineup for 2008.) A 234-horsepower, 3.3-liter V6 with Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) powers the entry-level GLS trim, while the Limited receives a more powerful 263-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6, also with CVVT. Both engines link to a five-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic, which enables drivers to manually shift gears by tapping the gear-shift lever up or down.
Hyundai has upgraded the Azera's suspension for 2008, in an effort to improve the midsize sedan's ride and handling, and added an in-dash LG touch-screen navigation system to the options list for the Limited. In addition, the automaker has added a power sunroof, an Infinity audio system, and side-mirror turn signal indicators to the list of standard features for the Limited. The GLS receives larger 17-inch wheels and body-color rocker panels to improve its ride and overall appearance. A GLS Premium Package, which includes leather seats, heated front seats, a power sunroof, and an upgraded 10-speaker AM/FM audio system, has been added as an option for the GLS for 2008.
Designed to compete with entry-level luxury vehicles from Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura, the Hyundai Azera offers a spacious cabin with plenty of legroom in the front and rear. Dual-zone automatic temperature control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, powered and heated exterior mirrors, and a 172-watt, six-speaker AM/FM audio system with XM radio and an MP3 input jack all are included as standard equipment on the Azera in an effort to make it competitive with more-established cars from the Japanese automakers. A full range of safety features, including antilock brakes, side-impact airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, and brake assist also come standard.
Drivers and reviewers note that, while it comes well-equipped with a wide range of luxury features, the Korean-built Azera doesn't quite compete on the same level as similar cars from the Japanese automakers. However, most agree that the Azera definitely improves on its predecessors in the Hyundai lineup, and that it represents a good step forward for the automaker. Most note that the interior is comfortable and roomy, with a quality feel and good ergonomics. Handling and ride are said to be on the soft side, but not overly floaty. The Azera offers good acceleration, though some note that the braking can be soft, particularly under hard pedaling. And many note that the Azera is priced competitively and should be attractive to drivers seeking a sedan that nudges into the luxury market. Overall, drivers and reviewers give the Azera good marks for its upscale features, roominess, and value.

I found nothing wrong with this vehicle, I will purchase this vehicle as soon as I find one.I really liked the look of this car, the color was pearl white,with alloy wheels,the performance was great,the acceleration and braking was great, all in all it handle very nicely.Jun 19, 2011

Surprising performance - acceleration, braking, handling for a vehicle about the size of a Buick. Another rental on a trip from Portland, OR, to Pasco, WA, in July, 2008. We put about 600 miles on the car and used 25 gallons of gas. That works out to 24 mpg. Not bad. This car had all the bells and whistles. Manual shift capability came in handy for long windy downhills on the 97 when stuck behind a row of cars following a large truck. When the opportunity arose to pass, I punched it and we passed 4 in about a half mile. Plenty of room for 4 adults. I later found out this car sells for around $30,000. Quite a bargain for all that you get. Hyundai really did its homework. The only negative findings were the poor performance of XM radio and the glare off the console. Mar 29, 2010

Yes it's a hyundai. but wait tis got a 3.8L V6. Its got
power engine and tunes. Got style like a lexus and
benz and it is family friendly. no in dash nav though.

Price is good, since it has many luxary options.

I recently purchased a 2008 Hyuandi Azera limited with a 6 disc cd player. When I press the CD button the message I get on the screen is "Disc Checking". It never goes any farther no matter which buttons I push. Eject does nothing and I have no idea if there are any discs in it. Has anyone had a similar problem?
