The 2005 Toyota Sequoia got a makeover for 2005, with a new grille and taillights among the cosmetic changes. The engine also got a boost in power, and the Limited has the option of second row bucket seats instead of a bench, which reduces the seating to seven people.
The 2005 Sequoia is available in two trims, the SR5 and the Limited. The Limited is the more luxurious version, with leather seating, front and rear air conditioning, and an upgraded stereo. Both share a 4.7-liter, 282 power V8, and both are available as a two or four-wheel drive. Not surprisingly, fuel economy is 15/18.
Drivers like the 2005 Sequoia because it handles well despite its size, offers plenty of cargo room and driver comfort, and handles well in the snow. One significant complaint is that there is limited visibility in the rear.
What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2005 Toyota Sequoia appreciate its reliability, comfort, and ability to handle tough conditions. Many drivers highlighted its spacious interior and family-friendly features, making it a popular choice for trips and outdoor adventures. However, some concerns were raised about known mechanical issues and higher prices compared to market values."
Great car - has same frame rust issues as many of this era, but body and interior still look excellent. Will need some minor mechanical fixes, but, for a 15 year old vehicle, its solid and will last for many years to come.
January 24, 2021Great Family Car to get around town. Its nice having a 3 row for 8 passengers. Its even great for long trips. Handles great in all types of weather. This SUV is easy to park and you dont need a step ladder to enter car!
November 19, 2014I like the looks, towing, SUV feel of an SUV, tailgate power window, accessory items, roof rack, wheel and tires, engine, serviceability. The tailgate latch is weak. Known to have issues. Also the power door lock and speakers are not reliable as they should be.

July 25, 2014Toyota is the best at what they do, that includes the SUV game. The Sequoia has everything one needs and then some.
February 7, 2024Great vehicle. Exactly what Im searching for. But I considered the price was a couple grand high for age and mileage, compared to what Ive seen on the market lately.
March 22, 2021We love the versatility this car provides...from a being an cooled and heated mobile office for my real estate business to long or short distance family trips to camping trips towing a camper, this car can handle it all and is definitely a work-horse!
April 17, 2015The ride is smooth and quiet. When closing any of the doors exceptionally hard, the closing is quiet and solid with no rattles or any other noises. The interior and exterior seams, linings and cosmetics are fitted perfectly and can be experienced by anyone who has a chance to detail the car!!! The seats are very comfortable on long trips and the interior is very roomy . The car is well engineered from top to bottom
March 18, 2007This vehicle dominates the domestic rivals in terms of refinement and reliability. At 165,000 miles the seat is the only thing that’s broken in. It feels indestructible like a tank!
September 18, 2021Great car for a family or for use as a light overlander with a few modifications. The first generation models are uncomplicated and reliable.
July 17, 2021This vehicle is reliable and easy to maintain. It’s great for musicians, campers and hikers, and those who need 4x4 or live with wintry conditions.
