The biggest additions to the GMC Yukon SUV for 2005 came from new Stabilitrak and touch screen navigation. Otherwise, GMC added a couple new exterior colors for your viewing pleasure. This domestic vehicle comes in 5 trims: the SLE, SLE 4WD, SLT, SLT 4WD, and Denali AWD. The Yukon offers a powerful set of V8 engines, including 4.8 L, 285 hp and 5.3 L, 295 hp models.
All trims have 4 doors and room for 8-9 passengers. Gas mileage generally comes out to 15 mpg in the city and 20 on the highway. The 2005 Yukon can tow nearly 8000 lbs. and gives you nearly 105 cubic feet of cargo space with the second row folded and the third row removed.
Overall, the Yukon certainly pulls its weight in the eyes of its drivers with its spacious interior and strong powertrains. However, interior and body materials need to improve. Pick up an '05 for a relatively modern and affordable make. However, if you need the most recent edition, pay extra and go for the 2007 Yukon.

5.3 L vortex. Probably best engine built in America pre-2010
Have rust on rocker panels
A. Common issue
B. I literally live across from ocean
C. Engine will outlive body.
Just change the oil as recommended.
17 years old n @ 200K miles. This past weekend snow n ice.. pushbutton 4WD worked perfect. Never done an ounce of work to it. Can not go wrong.Feb 28, 2022

The Denali is a very comfortable SUV with great performance and attractive style. Handles well in all weather conditions with good towing capacity. A very good SUV for long trips, towing a boat or camper or taking the wife out to dinner.Jul 03, 2012

The Yukon Denali has the most towing capacity of the large 1500 SUV's, it performs well in all-weather conditions with the AWD system. The Denali package includes the rear confort controls and entertainment unit which is a must if you have children. Great vehicle for long family road trips. If you can stomach the fuel cost this the SUV I recommend.May 31, 2012

I love the ride, the height and protection of this Yukon just like my first Tahoe. I never could figure the difference between a Yukon or Tahoe. Its great to have a removable third row, although that third row isn't too comfortable.May 15, 2011

We bought this car in March of 2008. We absolutely love it. The performance is great. It runs smooth. It has 5 DVD screens and 2 DVD players, GPS and a touch screen stereo w/ BOSE speakers. The gas milage is pretty good to be such a big car. It is white on the outside with leather interior.Sep 24, 2008

AC fan continues to run after shut off and key removed
I have a 2005 GMC Yukon SLE with 227,000 miles on it. Today after running the air conditioner for the first time since last fall, when I shut it off and took the key out, the AC fan kept running and wouldn't shut off. I started the vehicle back up, tried to shut the fan off on the console, but it would not shut off. Now the fan has continuously run for 5 hours and my 6-month-old battery is now dead. My mechanic checked it out about a year ago for me as the speedometer and gas gauge quit working, and said that the motor for the cluster that controls all the gauges was on its last leg and there was several other malfunctions in the cluster as well. I was told that it had no bearing on the AC and heat controls, and since I only drive it in my small home town, I decided not to have it fixed just yet since it was going to cost over $2500 to replace and repair what was wrong. Could this be what is causing the problems with the fan?

Misfire P0300 HELP
So I got the P0300 code. I thought it was just a bad coil so I replaced. Wasn't it. Did a tune up. Never fixed it. So I pulled valve covers found #5 cyl to have a bent push tube. Checked all of the others. Number the only one. Replaced tried again still the same. So I've replaced timing chain oil pump the oil pick up o-ring. Map senors. At high idle it runs fine. It won't stay running at all. I even replaced the injector on #5 to. I'm lost not sure we're to go or what to do.
