The 2005 Honda Odyssey has, as predicted, an all-new minivan design. What is incredible is Honda's ability to increase the interior space - and comfort - without any noticeable change in size of the exterior vehicle. You may notice the new 16-inch wheel design as the only major change to the outside.
All 2005 Odyssey models have electronic traction control via ABS with their (EBD) Electronic Braking Distribution system. Drivers really enjoy the looks of the Odyssey minivan with the sleek, attractive design. The fact that the 4-wheel independent suspension makes driving smoother, the more quiet ride also appeals to many user reviewers. It has excellent fuel efficiency, low emissions, and with the new 60/40 back seat folded down, incredible cargo space.
Owner reviews show an overall rating of 9.2 / 10.0, for the 2005 Honda Odyssey, though some people have expressed real disappointment. Does it make you wonder, where do the "lemons" come from? Now with standard side airbags, this vehicle has been awarded 5-stars in all crash test results. This year Odyssey review indicates that curtain side airbags have been included. This minivan comfortably seats up to eight people, and keeps its reputation as the best mid-size SUV on the road.
What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2005 Honda Odyssey appreciate its strong performance, spacious interior, and good fuel economy, making it a great family vehicle. Many love the comfort and various features like the DVD player and power doors. On the downside, some owners have expressed concerns about brake issues and the longevity of certain components after extended use."
Performance is great with powerful braking system, interior makes u want to sit in it and drive all day though gas consumption will make u change ur mind. it is built stylishly with an aerodynamic shape which gives it a superb look. The 2005 Odeyssey actually drives like a car and is far lower than other minivans.
July 7, 2013I really enjoy driving my Odyssey. It has so many features, I often say that my car is smarter than I am. It's such a quality minivan, I will never get another as long as the quality sticks! Honda thought of everything when they made the 2005 Odyssey!
September 14, 2011Nice to have a DVD player in the van for long trips or to keep family members occupied. Nice heated front seats and plenty of room. Runs excellent in the snow. Both side doors are automatic open with key operation.

January 23, 2014It is powerful, smooth, very tight turning radius. Miles above the Pontiac Montana we traded it for. Looking to own it for a long time. Love the dual power doors. Going to put a sunroof in it someday. Glad to have cloth and not leather interior.
September 26, 2010This is our third Odyssey. First '99 had transmission problems. Second was OK, but the 2005 has more power and better mileage and a better overall design---a great combination.
May 14, 2008Very good gas mileage and performance.
February 10, 2008It’s simple the Honda Odyssey is the best mini van hands down not the new ones before they made them smaller it was the largest one square footage traction control is phenomenal I haven’t ever been stuck and believe me I tested this thing over and over again smooth handling with a very good turn ratio braking is unbelievable even with a full load I tested this one to over and over again acceleration is impressive even with a full load gas mileage is pretty good and very good with an empty van with seats taken out I got 400 + miles out of tank I’m going to buy another today God willing 2005 and up transmission problems before 05’ enjoy yours
April 5, 2021very comfortable, reliable and great family car with lots of storage. Accelaration, braking and handling is exellent. Very safe to drive with kids. Maintainence cost is very low. I had this car with 2005 I had no issues with any of the system in the car.
May 21, 2012I really enjoy this minivan, even with it's issues. It is comfortable, drives like a car, great turning radius, responsive engine, smooth transmission.. For my purposes, it has and continues to be an easy vehicle to drive. I am not one for buying extended warranties, but since I decided to buy and keep this van, I rolled the dice and invested in an 84 month / 100,000 mile AAA (Mercury Insurance) extended warranty ($1,500)..and it paid for itself after the first air conditioner repair and DVD player replacement .
July 29, 2011I like just about everything about this Odyssey. It performs almost like a sports car and will haul a mountain of stuff. The seats are comfortable, it has all amenities, will carry seven adults in comfort, and routinely gets 25 mpg on trips running at 70-75 mph.
