The Pacifica was a unique new style of crossover SUV, introduced by Chrysler in 2004. The pacifica shares a platform with Chrysler's minivans, while most crossover utes are car-based. This was the America automaker's first attempt at a sport utility.
For this introductory year, Chrysler offered just two variants of the Pacifica: front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Trims were expanded in the following years. Chrysler designed this SUV for more upscale tastes, and labeled it a "sports tourer." Standard features included auto-dimming mirrors, a CD audio system, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable pedals and full power accessories. Leather seating, a sunroof, a 385-watt Infinity sound system, navigation system, a rear seat DVD entertainment system, and the hands-free "UConnect" communications system.
Both 2004 models are powered by a 3.5 liter V-6, which delivers 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The V-6 is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission with a manual shifter. Fuel economy for the front wheel drive model is 17/22 mpg.

loved this car drove it to Florida several times very roomy and still has cargo space Parts and labor for this vehicle was very inexpensive Sun roof and heated seats for the winter was awesome I would recommend this car to anyone that needs spaceMay 01, 2014

all the add ons were nice
didn't like paying for gas when I got less than 18 mpg sometimes; however most SUVs or especially some pickups probably get less 15 mpg so overall great family car and you can get AWD.Mar 02, 2014

love this car - owned since new. handles great in any weather, I think the gas mileage is great for a 6 passenger vehicle. love all the inside gadgets and dvd. I don't think that the tire pressure sensors are known to work great on this carDec 31, 2013

I like this car because it has a V6 engine that will push to the limit. Also, the size of tires for a good grip of traction; As well as the aerodynamic of the vehicle is more sleek than i needed. Great car.Jun 12, 2012

Urban driving yields 16-18 mph, highway/rural roads yields 18-21 mph. Lots of creature comforts which make traveling easy on driver and passengers alike. Heated seats in front and rear are a quick relieve from winter temperatures. This is our third vehicle. Now retired, need to downsize.May 21, 2012

It's an OK car. Very comfortable for our family of four with captains chairs
in 1st & 2nd rows. But, it's heavy and a little under powered. All wheel
drive is good, but the low ground clearance means moderate snow driving
ability. It's been pretty reliable though this car had a recall on it's front
subframe that Chrysler stepped in and reimbursed us for expenses on
that sub frame replacement due to severe rusting.Oct 23, 2011

Gorgeous with the 22 inc crome wheels..
A wide version of a 4x4 car...
But the 3,5L V6 engine was to little... Should at least
had been made with a 4L V8 or a diesel-engine
instead...

Love my Pacifica-bought it brand new off the show room floor completely loaded on Jan 27-2004 and I love it. Spacious and a great travel vehicle. Paid it off and wouldn't trade it for anything. It's like a truck but a car and rides so smooth. You can fold down the seats and haul just about anything and the trunk hatch door goes up and down with the click of the button on the key or in the car. Love it!Sep 13, 2009

I love my car! except I bought the first year model. AND I'm beginning to think it was involved in a flood. There are electrical issues, rust in spots there shouldn't be...like under the paint and under my seats? and now the blower motor is shot and I'm guessing to get it inspected will cost me a boat load of money becuase it's time for rotars and such. Although I have read that other people have the same electrical issues with their pacificas.
If it were newer I'd guess it'd be an amazing car! It drives excellent and is great in the snow! It goes through anything! The gas usage on it is actually quite impressive and it looks great and is comfortable :) Jul 17, 2009

The car has a lot of ammenities not appearing on most cars in the price range.
The horn is to hard to blow, the view to the rear is poor. The emergency brake release is hard to release. I like the separate a/c heat controls. The car is easy to get into and out of.Dec 12, 2008

You can count on Daimler Chrysler when it comes to comfort!!! First and second rows have seat heaters and the both recline! Love where the GPS is positioned....and it talks :D The towling package is great for taking the dirtbikes up to the track!!!Apr 08, 2008

Car is well built. But when things break and they do. Dealer will not or can't fix. It has the typical intermittent problems that no one can duplicate. When you finally duplicate it and show it to the dealer they ultimately can't fix it.
I must say that Hollywood Chrysler in Ft. Lauderdale, FL had a great service department. If they were a Toyota dealer they would be fantastic.Apr 03, 2008

This is not a car built to astound. Simply put, it is a glorified mini-van. I don't imagine anyone would say, "Oh I just have to get one." However, it is very practical so if it fits your needs for a family vehicle, buy one, and you will deffinetly enjoy it.Jan 07, 2008

This was the first year for this car, and the car drove very smooth, had enough power for a FWD family vehicle. The interior was incredible, with lines that actually matched up all the way around the vehicle (this was present on the outside, as well). Dec 22, 2007

Ive been a pacifica owner for a little over 2 months now and I am pleased by what the car has to offer. It provides seating and space while maintaining a comfortable, agile and secure ride. The acceleration is decent but has a lot of power once it gets moving. ( 80 feels like 60!) Sep 06, 2007

Ignition Switch stays on when key removed?
I can remove the key from the ignition before the switch is fully in the off position. The next time I go to use the car the battery is too low to start the car. Thank You
