Left sliding door doesn't open or close
Door was frozen shut, tried to open when operated but stopped without opening. Now no operation at all, no motor noise, won't latch, power door warning light on.

The 2001 Honda Odyssey is essentially the same minivan from the previous two years. With a V-6, 3.5-liter engine with 210-hp, the Odyssey has power compatible with its size. All 2001Odyssey models come with an (EBD) Electronic Braking Distribution system that manages to calculate weight distribution inside the vehicle, and will adjust braking action during hard stops. When it comes to safety, the 2001 Odyssey also scored well with crash test results. This year all models feature an optional navigation system.
Drivers really enjoy the looks of the Odyssey minivan with the sleek, attractive design. The fact that the 4-wheel independent suspension makes driving smoother, also appeals to many user reviewers. Most passengers enjoy a degree of comfort and dependability, as the second row seat will adjust for 2 or 3 people. Maximum seating availability is for seven people.
Owner reviews are pretty high for the 2001 Honda Odyssey. It has excellent fuel efficiency, low emissions, and with the back seat folded down, tremendous cargo space.

Transmission started going at 108K miles. Honda corporate replaced the 2003 and 2004 HO transmissions on all Odysseys, but refused to replace the 2001. Had I researched better I never would have bought this car. Plus the gas mileage was terrible - averaging around 15 miles to the gallon. Aug 24, 2024

I have owned this van for 4 years. My major issue is w/ the squeaky brakes (has rear drum brakes). I have changed the brakes several times (even with the pads still good) but I cant get rid of the squeak. It also had an issue w/ the passenger power sliding door and it was an expensive fix. The van overall has been reliable and I am not concerned when driving on long road trips with my family. It is a nice ride and had many of the extras my Sienna doesn't have. May 02, 2011

Smooth ride comfortable interior lots of room comfortable plenty of visability no real blind spots.Wide stance ,good stereo fold down seats that store below floor level,stereo controls in steering wheel auto cooling and it has a console for driver to hold drinks or whateverJul 14, 2010

Lots of Space and Cargo at the same time, great fuel consumption, quality is amazing. Braking is exceptional, appearance was great bought new rims and tires looks hotter, maintenance is right (not too high), just right for the car. It does drive great on the highway.Nov 06, 2009

I've own this car since 2001 and my wife does not like this vehicle. She feels the V6 is underpowered for the weight of the car. I think it's fine but I usually don't drive around 3 kids and all their sports gears in the van. I enjoy the drive and it's perfect height for me to get in and out of the car. A/C works great and offers plenty of storage room. It's a mini van and it does what it's suppose to do.Jul 29, 2008

Front End wobble
Our Odyssey seems to "wobble" when we first take off, but then smooths out as we pick up speed. I thought it might need an alignment but was told could be drive train - any insight? It's due for the 100,000 mile service and I hate to spend the money if I'm going to end up with a burnt out tranny.

Got battery jumped and vehicle started but after a minute or two the tachometer started maxing out then vehicle would act like it wanted to die. Did this for at least five minutes and shut it off
