2001 BMW 3 Series Reviews, Pricing & Specs

This car is smooth and powerful and handles like a Swedish Masseuse! I bought this car in 2003 with a CPO warranty and 30,000 miles on it. I bought this car loaded with every package; sport, premium, cold weather, etc and it still drives like it's new with almost 50,000 miles on it currently. Original engine, trans, and chassis. Upgraded with Carbonio carbon fiber intake and H&R sport suspension. Of course it is a 5-speed!

Great driving experience and a good value, compared to the A4 and C class.

Bmw at is peak with amazing design and the e46 chassis was one of the best.

Super quiet, supremely comfy, surprising luxuries, and sexy to drive. Styling is essentially timeless; so simple and solid, but very thoughtful. The engine is perfectly matched to the car, silky and on a hair-trigger. Handling, obviously, is absolutely superb. Overall outstanding performance and reliability.

A great car that is still running strong. Excellent body and very clean interior. No scratches, dents or dings. New tires (4 months old) and upkeep maintained. With high miles maintanence is expected. For the BMW lover and collector as this series/ year is a classic.

Performance - acceleration, braking, handling YES Build Quality - has it needed repairs? squeaks/rattles NO squeaks and rattles, replaced fan sensor and door regulator, other then that just regular services and maintainances. Appearance - both interior and exterior styling very good to excellent Cost of Ownership - gas mileage, maintenance Fun Factor - is this car fun to drive? It has been reasonable to own, great fun to drive, I will miss it

I insist on buying german cos you get more bang for your buck. Amazing to drive, excellent handling, inexpensive to run and needs very little maintenance. It's got an insane sound system, trust the krauts, and the metallic green is the only one I've seen and it's seriously gorgeous

Solid car that can take a lot. Weathered El Nino's worst and baked in the San Diego Sun. Hard to find and hard to get, owners want to keep em for a reason. Manual top has never been a problem, everyone else that has one has given me a thumbs up when they see ours.

great all-around car. awesome body style and not as expensive as you might think. could be faster but can still get goin. no repairs needed so far. great interior with a ton of features. if i had to get rid of this car i would buy another bmw. fun to drive in the winter if youre lookin to get sideways haha german engineering is awesome. one word, perfection. its the ultimate driving machine for a reason, it handles better than anything in its class, it is absolutely practical, and i enjoy every moment of driving it.

What I like about my car is the build quality. I also like the torque in the engine.( even though it could have a bit more) One thing that is nice about bmw, is the wheel arches. they allow you to put on wider tires than you can on many other car makes. The car has low mileage and deasent aftermarket value, and there are no other brand that has more styling/tuning parts than bmw.

Good solid car, but can be sluggish.

The BMW 330i is a great car. It's styling still looks great and not too outdated. The 3.0 I6 power is respectable for the size of the car and builds torque quickly. The 5 speed is predictable and gives ample feedback. Overall this is a great car with few drawbacks.

Is dechromed, 17" msport wheels, alacantara seats, manual, smoooooth, rear parking sensors, Love it. Has good sound system also but currently only single CD. All that's missing is an inbuilt satnav and also CD changer. Solid german reliability. Can't go wrong. Having owned a 7, 5 and now 3 series, the 7 was pure luxury, the 5 E34 was as solid as they come and super smooth, but admittedly for sheer driving dynamics and all round quality, it has to be the 3. Now that i'm used to the power delivery from this 2.2 straight 6, need to go higher.

Fantastic brakes, wonderful performance, quiet and smooth on the road at all speeds, good build quality and great looking car. Don't like drive-by-wire throttle. I bought this car with 80,000 miles and have performed some fairly standard preventative maintenance on it but have had no mechanical problems with the car whatsoever.

This year is the best body that BMW has ever put out. It takes all corners very tight and lowers itself to the ground to hug. 24mpg interior amazing. no problems at all. no repairs either. I would recommend this!

One of the best handling cars i have ever owned. has some suspension work done to it and simple maintance but it is running strong at 135,000 miles. its a very fun car to drive and gets great gas mileage. it really has no rattles what so ever and the road noise is almost non existant.

Comfortable, well equipped, good looking, reliable, fast and economical for a 3.0 litre petrol car. Feels safe and well built plus there are lots of after market modifications available for the 3 series so it is easy to make the car look even better for reasonable money. Best car i have owned and it is a pleasure to own and drive.

This has been an excellent car for four years now; it has gotten me through college without trouble and has taken me on many long road trips without so much as a hiccup. Running costs are very low, I don't know how these cars got the reputation for being expensive to own. It is very secure on the road; the excellent suspension and brakes help to avoid accidents. People think you are rich when they see you in this car, which can be good or bad.

Torque...Speed...Handling and Looks are great in every proportion and most of all it is and will always be the greatest car on this planet BMW.

This is exactly what a wagon should be. Fun to drive and also ergonomic.

This BMW was great. Great looking car which gets compliments 13 years later. Very reliable and it still looks like brand new after 13 years. There are no major problems with it and is much more reliable than any other car I have had.

I've had this car for 7 years now, and have had very few major repairs. With a regular maintenance schedule, the engine and transmission are running strong with almost 160,000 miles on the car! I've had to replace the clutch, alternator and brake rotors (normal wearing parts) but that is it! This car still has great looks even being 13 years old.

When all the other family's were driving their SUV's and Vans I bought the BMW wagon. I could not have been happier and all my friends wished they done the same!! Perfect for driving the kiddos around then when they were not with me I had the sports car feel I love!! Easy to park and perfect for loading groceries!! One of the best vehicles I have ever owned...never regretted it an I will buy another!!

My first BMW, and this car is a machine! Quality is all I have to say. I really enjoy driving my 5 speed everywhere. Woiuld reccomend this car to anyone looking to get in a BMW for a low price (for a BMW).

white, red leather interior, handles great and good power, just a few things that i need to work on on the car are headliner, interior squeaks when going over bumps. but car is a lot of fun and has had no problems in the 3500 miles since i bought it.

I love my car! It's a bit more expensive to own and maintain than most Japanese or American cars, but when was the last time that anyone got an ear to ear grin from merging in traffic onto Hwy 280 in a Camry? It's nine years old and it still looks modern and beautifully designed.

I love my car because she looks fantastic and drives like a dream, handles brilliantly, i feel totally safe in her and know that my kids are safe too. Yes she does cost quite a bit to run and maintain but it goes with the terroritory if you want a nice car and i am prepared to stomach that!!

Very solid, extremely economic fun car.

With a good wheel and tire combination, the car handles better than most cars on the road. Brakes have incredible stopping power and the power and torque are lots of fun. A manual transmission would be much better in this type of car as the automatic isn't very reliable and the manual mode has rough shifts. Interior is quiet and comfortable, great for long highway trips. Optional premium sound system isn't very good. Car got totaled by an SUV on freeway and was clearly the better built car. Car was still drivable after the highway speed accident but the SUV that hit it had lost a wheel and destroyed its engine.

It’s a great car! An reliable inline six , on a solid rack and pinion and independent suspension frame /chassis... simple and easy to work on

These cars offer enjoyment of driving like no car I have ever driven. Acceleration, Handling, Braking, not to mention Stability Control are all outstanding. Though a bit expensive they are worth every dime, especially if you can find a good used one!

This car is beautiful, It definetly is fast as hell. Its left everything that has tried to play with me. For build quality its a bmw, german engineering. The car is absolutly beautiful inside and out. power everything. I cant say much for gas yet since I let it run and the seats heat up before I get in it. Hell yeah this things fun to drive its a 330xi stick shift.

Great car, bit underpowered, handles beautiful, only downfall would be the independent rear suspension causing wickedly uneven tyre wear because its low .Fun car to drive, always turns heads.

was a fun little convertible. made it to Billings, Montana and back to Little Rock pertaining 30mpg in the cold. didnt have alot of power for a 4 cylinder but still allowed you to have little fun and allowed more handling. Loved the car

I like everything about this car just looking for something a little smaller and cheaper to fix if needed. Overall this car has been a good car to me and I love the way that it looks. I have definitely had alot of compliments regarding it :)

very fast car. with excellent handlin with the build quality to match. the looks are amazin. bit expensive on fuel but very worth it. it is very fun to drive. a proper drivers car. best car i have owned. loved it. would love to own the new 335 version. hopefully soon

Performance is excellent, especially given the low consumption. The car performs very well considering it's power and relatively small engine. Build quality is a bit lacking compared to the 5-series (old or new). It just doesn't feel as well put together and some materials feel cheaper. Appearancewise I'm not too fond of it, the 3-series has always had and probably always will have a bit of a yuppie/douchebag image. Nothing wrong with the way it drives though, it's a proper BMW in that sense.

Great car! It gets great gas milage with a four- cylinder engine, but that also means it doesn't quite perform top notch. Very solid otherwise, handles well and is comfortable. I really enjoy driving it.
