The 2000 Camry Solara came in two trim levels: the base SE and the well-appointed SLE. The SE comes standard with a 2.2 liter, four-cylinder engine, and the SLE comes standard with a V6, 3.0-liter engine. Unlike its competitors the Honda Accord and the Chrysler Sebring, the 2000 Camry Solara was available with a five-speed manual transmission with the V6 engine. Fuel economy is about 20 to 30 miles per gallon.

September 11, 2007Its platform is shared with the lexus 300 so is a quality unit ,, Even up here in salty Maine its held up well.mine is 20 + years old with 221000 miles on it ,,engine trans alternator ps all the electrical components [except the jbl radio] have never failed ,,,,Normal chassis running gear has been replaced. The engine is nick named the anvil motor for good reason, as the hold up incredibly will if oiled properly ,,they [normally ]consume a little oil.. and sound like a sewing machine when idling but thats normal for these guys ,,, They are no doubt one of the best vehicals that could be bought those early years.
November 24, 2021Love this car! Acceleration is great. Car is solid and well built. Interior styling and comfort is perfect but could use a bit better stereo. Gas mileage is surprisingly great for a V6 and maintenance is easy to perform. I drive 2 hours to and from work on the 4-lane highway, this car makes the drive relaxing, comfortable and safe.

July 8, 2008Strong sport car, elegant for casual or formal going out or working. Easy to handle. maintenance Average size for both family and single Economy fuel, save gas compared to other sport car Trunk is good size for sport car Engine is excellent
December 13, 2011Haven't had to do any maintenance yet so I don't know how expensive that will be. Right now I'm getting 22 mi. in the city. Great acceleration, braking and handling. So quiet I sometimes don't realize it's running. Have to use cruise control to be sure I don't go over the lower speed limits (30, 40, 45)!

June 7, 2007if you get one, customise it unless you like the feel of a Camry with 2 doors. If you're looking for one, look for the V6 option with the manual. It's either this, or the convertible top, that makes a Solara a Solara
September 4, 2010This car has two doors and a sharp look that sets it apart from the regular Camry. Unfortunately, it has the same uninspired handling as one. It has decent passing power and brakes, but the handling assures you never mistake this for a sportscar. Toyota really is the Japanese Buick.
January 3, 2008Good transportation car bought second hand for college kid driver. Nice and smooth driving condition. Low and easy maintenance cost, perhaps due to smaller engine size (4 cylinders) and fuel economy is very good if drive within the posted sign.
