For 1999, the Toyota Sienna got a few additions, including a fourth door on the base model, the option of a power sliding door, and the option of an integrated child restrain system.

The 1999 Sienna came in three trim levels: the base CE, the midrange LE, and the high-end XLE. The CE is for minimalists only, with air conditioning, power windows, power locks, and a cassette player all optional. The LE is better equipped, and the XLE includes luxury-like amenities, such as leather trimmed seating and a power moon roof. Available on models is an optional second sliding door. The engine is a 3.0 liter, 194 horsepower V6 that gets about 18/24 mpg.

Drivers like the 1999 Toyota Sienna because it is a solid, reliable van that handles more like a car. Drivers complain that there isn’t enough cargo space, and many wish the rear seats would fold flat.

This van has served us well while raising four children. Very comfortable on trips and room for all the luggage and toys that we need take. Three of four kids are on their own so we really do not need the size of the Sienna and want to downsize at this point.Aug 19, 2012

I'm not a fan of driving a mini van, but it really is an awesome family car. It's also built tough! We were rear ended by a Jeep CJ that was travelling 40MPH and we couldn't see any visible damage on our car. Amazingly built and has never left me standed!Jul 22, 2008

Have had it since 2001 and it has never had a major problem. We've done the tires, maintenance and oil changes. I'd buy one again.May 04, 2007
