1999 Toyota Camry/Solara V6 3.0L
OK I have never posted on anything like this, so I'm going to try to give you guys all the information I can. I have a 1999 Toyota Solara 3.0 V6 it has 225000 miles on it. For the last week or so the problem has gotten progressively worse. I drive anywhere from 90-150 miles per day. Mostly highway but I do drive in the city as well. Basically when I am trying to accelerate (more on the highway) the car will kind of sputter and act like it is running out of gas or something it just doesn't have any power but normally when I downshift and get the RPM up 2700+ it will drive fine then I'll just shift a little later than normal, but for the last 2 days when I did that it would start smelling really bad like something was burning. I didn't have a check engine light on but I took it to my local auto parts store they got the codes and said it was the 02 sensor I bought the part replaced it in the parking lot and it was driving better still sputtering but not smelling on the highway(it only would smell in 4th or 5th gear) it has been 2 days now since I replaced the oxygen sensor and it is still sputtering. If you have any idea on what the issue could be any input would be great. I avoid putting my car the shop by any means I am just a diy guy I guess but I also don't know much about cars.
