I love the space you get in this car. It sounds good when you have it working right. The clutch is not hard to learn and It usually shifts easily. So far the only down side has been the amount of money that iv put into it so far but this is to be expected due to the age of the car. All in all its a very nice car. Apr 26, 2015

it wasa good car ,good on gas and it gets me where im going i've have it 3 years i just got it out of the shop and i put 2200 in it cause my daughter messed it up.but works good nowAug 13, 2012

Performance - Fantastic. NO problems whatsoever.
No rattling and squeaking - even though it is a fairly old car.
Sexy body and fantastic interior.
Very economical and definitely value for money

This is my replacement daily driver/winter beater. Rolled the last one in a ditch. Needs a lot of effort and TLC yet (mechanical as well as visual-obviously!). I think I'll name it Rusty. Intend to "fix" the body and repaint. Possibly some different wheels... something more attractive? Otherwise, Excellent car. the 5spd makes up for lost HP. Has plenty of torque and will burn rubber all day if you let it. Will carry its own weight + some (tows like a dream). If it wasn't for the missing sway bar, I think performance would definently increase. lol.May 31, 2011

When I totalled it, (rolled 4+times) I walked away with a few scratches. From the outside the car looked flat, but inside, the cab was ok. Looked great, great gas mileage. Would definatly buy a nissan again anyday. Wonder what thier vans are like? if they have any?Nov 23, 2009

This is what everybody really should be driving. This is probably my perfect "modern" car. It has decent acceleration. The fuel economy is amazing - especially if you overinflate the tires. It's actually quite fun to drive because of its size. Keep it clean and maintained and it will last forever. Sep 16, 2009

its get from point a to b. not much power and 0-60 in 3 hour. its cheap to maintain. Has an ok amount of mpg 23 mpg is what i tend to get out of it but i think it can be a bit higher. Jul 17, 2009

We bought this car from a crash restoration dealer, but you could never tell by looking at it. It was a great little practical car. It did its job, transporting people and their stuff, extremely well, but that's it. With a weak little 1.6L engine and old econo-tires, it wasn't much for thrills, and its appearance was just about as boring and generic as one can imagine. Same with the interior. I completely neglected the care of this car, often going 12,000 miles without an oil change, and it never let me down. Plus, it turned out nearly 40 mpg! I was greatly saddened when a teen driver ended its life by rear-ending me on the freeway.Apr 11, 2009

When I bought this car, it was supposed to be a Maxima LOL. I went to Auto World and they pretty much gaffled me into this car, but u kno wat? For the price I brought them down to, this is an amazing car. The mileage was great, the drive was smooth...there's nothing better than a Nissan!Sep 05, 2008

I bought my car from a friend for practically nothing. It runs very well for its age. Its been through a lot cosmetically..ie hit by a uhaul van, broken into numerous times (terrible neighborhood) and some crazy cycling days. It gets great mileage though which makes it worth every penny in these ridiculous times. I love my car...though I'd trade it any day for a SLR McLaren.Jun 30, 2008

The exterior is gly, my old 1995 B13 was better designed. the interior is better, but still small. The engine is good, not fast but I have given a lot of miles without much maintenance.May 13, 2008

This car is very dependable. We leave it parked for months at a time and it has never failed to start right up. It made the transition from leaded to unleaded gasoline without blinking. Sometimes, especially after a heavy rain, the electrical system goes a little haywire but other than that keeps on truckin.Oct 22, 2007

Brake light and battery light stay on while driving
I have a 97 Nissan Sentra with 154k miles and the battery light and brake light stay on while driving. A couple weeks ago the car would die out and the abs light came on and I would let off the accelerator and the car would snap back. I never had to re start my car it would just stall out and as I let off the accelerator it would come back. But now it's just those lights that come on. And some times only when I accelerate and the second I let off the gas they go off. I have changed the belts, filters, what could I do? It's it my alternator?

1997 Nissan Sentra 1.6L
Car won't go in reverse. Overhauled the automatic transmission. In the reverse clutch one of the plates were destroyed. Appeared to wreck the inside of the reverse drum and high clutch drum, so replaced both drums. put all new plates in. Discovered the overdrive cancel solenoid was bad, so replaced those. Drive works. Can't feel the car shift into reverse. Normally should feel something, like when shifting into D. Like something isn't kicking in? The tires stop when shifting into reverse. Feels pretty solid, like holding the break. Just won't go. Anyone have any ideas?
