towing capacity
we have a volvo 240 and want to tow a 900 kg tare caravan. the weight on the ball is 70 kg. Is this possible or do we have to buy a lighter van.

I've driven everything including tractors,BMWs,Lincolns,Caddys,Chevys,Jaguars,MGs....the only other car I liked as much was the Merkur Scorpio & the problem w/ them was getting parts
.I hope to drive this car to the Million Mile Club & then drop a biodeisel [or who knows what will be available then] into it & keep on going.. Dec 11, 2014

This car was fully garaged for years by a car enthusiast in my family who loved to take care of it for the last 20 years. Excellent upkeep, spacious interior, no dents on outside, or rip or tears inside. Lots of tender loving care was put into the car since car enthusiast passed the car onto us. Apr 25, 2011

Performance: 0-60 in like 12-13 seconds, handling is horrible BUT its RWD!! yea!!, apearence is well kept but could use some lowering, gas mileage is acceptable.

A wonderful car that never disapoints. Once you have driven a 240/245 you can´t imagine ever wanting anything else. Its cheap to own and reliable to drive. It might not be a car with the highest number of hp but it´s got enough.Jun 08, 2009

My Volvo cost $300 and has Great Handling on country roads and city streets, the Maintenance is Easy and Cheap(Super Cheap!!!!!), Leather Interior(Do I need to say more?) and enough space for you 4 of your buddies and a weeks worth of camping gear, also there's a roof rack, Gas Mileage - 30 to 35, Its a Wagon, so of course its fun!, I would totally recommend this car, But find your own this one is mine ! P.S. mine has over 300,000 miles and runs great . . . as with everything Look before you buy not all cars a treated equally . . . the previous owners actions are always a mystery, some people just can't take care of their car . . . This car is great all around. It is reliable and durable, lasting many years and driving many more miles. The interior is very comfortable with lots of headroom and legroom. Also, additional comfort includes heated seats in the winter and air conditioning in the summer.Mar 19, 2008

Why did my new battery go dead?
I was just up in Elko, NV where the temp dropped to 24 degrees...and zapped my battery where I needed a jump start. I drove down to Tooele, UT and put in a brand new battery. I thought the problem was solved but the new one was dead in a couple days and I need to jump it every time I go somewhere. I tested the alternator by removing the neg wire and it kept running so I believe that's ok. There isn't a lot of corrosion on the battery terminal and none in the cable. I'm running out of ideas. Any thoughts?

I'm not quite sure what the gear ratio is... was confused because there seems to be .three different ratios will fit...I really need to find the part te car has been sitting in garage for over a year.
