Can anyone verify that a 1989 240 Volvo came with a metal hood prop rod?

I had one on my car and it disappeared. My (former) mechanic, who just gave me a check for $500 refund, since I have proof he charged me two times for something, and he put on bad struts, now says that if I can show him proof my car ever had the metal rod that held up the hood, then he would replace it. (I think he probably has it on another car.) I have a 1989 240 GL that was purchased in the Chicago IL area brand new. (Needless to say, I have called another mechanic, but that guy who is younger than me, has never seen the hood rod before.) Thank you to anyone who can prove this for me. If you can supply a picture of one, that would be fabulous, too.

Is it bad to smell gas in the oil ?

I smell gas in my oil . Is that bad, if so what needs to be done to fix the problem ?

Fuel issues

Hello everybody my name is Wayne and I am trying to teach my self mechanic's I recently got a 1989 volvo 240 non turbo that was well taken care of but now has an issue with getting fuel to the engine it seems and I have replaced the whole in tank fuel sending unit the external fuel pump the fuel relay the sparkplugs and sparkplug harness and I have also checked the fuel injectors and they are working fine but the sparkpmugs are always dry it will turnover sometimes and stay running as long as I at least have my foot some what on the gas does anyone have any idea as to what could be the problem I would greatly appreciate it
