What Volkswagen Tiguan do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Tiguan years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choices, more price spread, and a better chance of finding the trim and condition you want. They also tend to be the easiest years to shop because inventory is deeper and deal availability is stronger.

What is the Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

Most Tiguan model years are down year over year, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. The steepest drops are concentrated in newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older years have moved down more modestly. That pattern suggests you can find stronger value in several recent model years without giving up much in features or usability.

The 2016, 2023, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 201 horsepower in most Tiguans, while the SEL R-Line Turbo gets 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
• Tech: Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are both included as standard equipment, and the SEL R-Line Turbo adds a 15-inch touchscreen and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
• Safety: The 2026 Tiguan adds driver-initiated lane-change assist as part of Travel Assist.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
