Why it stands out
The Volkswagen Tiguan stands out in the compact SUV segment for its spacious interior, offering more room than many rivals, and is one of the few vehicles in its class to provide an optional third-row seat. Its upscale appearance and enjoyable driving dynamics further enhance its appeal, making it a compelling choice for those seeking both comfort and performance. Additionally, the Tiguan's evolution from a tentative first-generation model to a well-rounded contender showcases Volkswagen's commitment to improving quality and user experience over the years.
Other model years to consider
The Volkswagen Tiguan model years 2021 and 2022 offer solid value for buyers looking for a reliable compact SUV. With average prices of $18,672.84 and $22,043.40 respectively, both models are competitively priced and come with high user ratings of 4.8/5 and 4.7/5, indicating strong customer satisfaction. Additionally, approximately 36% of listings for these years represent good to great deals, providing excellent purchase opportunities for budget-conscious shoppers.
Model years to approach with caution
When evaluating the Volkswagen Tiguan, buyers should consider financial aspects such as average pricing and availability constraints across different model years. For example, the 2010 and 2011 models are moderately suitable due to their lower average prices of around $6,600, but they also show a higher percentage of listings that are not considered good deals. On the other hand, newer models like the 2016 version, while slightly more expensive at approximately $9,600, present quality metrics that may align better with buyer expectations but still exhibit a significant portion of listings marked as not good deals.

What people say
The car is GREAT! Good on gas. Smooth ride. Not too small or too large. It’s the perfect car for me.
This car has all the bells and whistles and VW is well known for building quality vehicles that are fun to drive. Pricing is also reasonable.
Overall the Tiguan mixes both drivability and technology in a sporty and capable SUV. It’s not too large to move around in rush hour traffic or too small to get lost on the road.
I love the car, great family vehicle. Highly recommended.
This is my first new car. I LOVE IT. Excellent acceleration and handeling. Driven 700 miles in the first week!! I have a long commute to work so I need to enjoy my ride and I would say I definitely do. The Tiguan shape really stands out in a crowd and looks very sporty and fun. There is plenty of cargo room. The best part of the car is the GIANT sunroof!! It keeps the interior of the car bright and cheery. I would definitely reccommend this car to anyone.
