Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The 2023 Toyota Crown is offered with the choice of two hybrid powertrains among its XLE, Limited, and Platinum trims. The standard base powertrain uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a hybrid electric motor/generator fed by a nickel-metal hydride battery pack. That battery also powers an additional electric motor between the rear wheels, delivering on-demand all-wheel-drive (AWD) at initial acceleration and when more traction is required. Combined output is 236 horsepower. The top Platinum trim is eligible for the Hybrid Max powertrain that upgrades to a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a more powerful rear electric motor. They combine to produce 340 horsepower. The base hybrid is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) while the Hybrid Max gets a traditional six-speed automatic. Toyota estimates the base hybrid will accelerate to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds. The turbo Hybrid Max should get there in 5.7 seconds.
• Infotainment: Regardless of which Toyota Crown trim you choose, it will come standard with a large 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included and pair well with the wireless charging pad. The new infotainment system further benefits from over-the-air (OTA) software updates to keep your maps and firmware current.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include frontal and cross-traffic collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-seat-passenger reminder. The Platinum trim adds a semi-automated parallel parking system.

The 2023 Toyota Crown offers these trims:

• XLE: The entry trim brings the standard hybrid powertrain, all-wheel drive, and the core comfort-and-efficiency formula that defines the Crown. It is the best-value choice for buyers who want the Crown’s distinctive shape and hybrid setup at the lowest price.
• Limited: This trim adds leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a JBL sound system, and a panoramic moonroof, making it the value sweet spot for shoppers who want a more upscale cabin without moving to the top trim.
• Platinum: The top trim adds the Hybrid Max powertrain with 340 horsepower, a six-speed automatic, adaptive suspension, and a semi-automated parallel parking system for buyers who want the most performance and equipment.

What Toyota Crown do most buyers choose?

The Toyota Crown years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

Higher-listing years tend to draw more shoppers because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing flexibility, and a better chance of finding the trim and condition you want. In the Crown's case, the most common years also line up with the model's strongest mix of availability and value.

What is the Toyota Crown's resale value?

The Crown's used prices are moving in different directions depending on the year, but the overall pattern is fairly mixed. Two of the three model years are down year over year, which can create better buying opportunities for used shoppers, while one year is still edging upward. The biggest drop is the clearest sign that some recent Crowns are becoming more attractive on the used market.

The 2024, 2023, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Toyota Crown safe?

• 2023: 6/10

For the safest used buy, the 2023 model posts the highest confirmed score of 6/10.
