The main tradeoffs that come up in expert reviews are highway wind buffeting, slightly confusing tech, and the loss of a manual transmission for the base model.
25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Porsche 911 models reliable?
Owners consistently describe the 911 as a car that delivers strong performance, engaging handling, and a rewarding ownership experience. Expert reviews also reinforce its appeal through its balanced driving character, solid build quality, and broad usability.
- Owners rate the Porsche 911 between 4.0 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

What Porsche 911 do most buyers choose?
The Porsche 911 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 1,737 | 30.4% |

| 2026 | 1,215 | 30.7% |

What is the Porsche 911's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | $217,566 | −2.37% |

| 2024 | $217,322 | −0.9% |
| 2021 | $179,942 | −0.06% |
| 2025 | $224,352 | +0.24% |
| 2017 | $121,521 | +4.36% |
| 2022 | $222,302 | +4.74% |
| 2019 | $210,823 | +7.08% |
| 2016 | $160,407 | +8.66% |
| 2018 | $224,908 | +8.97% |
| 2015 | $124,747 | +10.64% |
| 2014 | $113,711 | +13.91% |
The table shows a mixed picture, with several newer years edging down while others are moving up. That means you can still find some recent-model opportunities with softer pricing, but a number of older years continue to command strong values.
The 2021, 2024, and 2025 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.
The 2014, 2015, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.

This 911 Turbo S was painted in Aventurine which is one of the rarest Porsche colors, and it was paired with a sumptuous truffle leather interior. The only option missing was the front end lift. There is no comparison to the 911 Turbo S.

Why it stands out
The 2025 Porsche 911 shows why the formula still resonates: it delivers excellent overall performance, a comfortable and simplistic interior, and solid daily livability. Porsche also gave the 2025 model year a refreshed 992.2-generation update, with subtle changes to the face, interior, and power output. Even though the car is dimensionally much larger than 911s of yore, it still keeps the familiar rear-engine shape that defines the nameplate.
That mix of tradition and refinement is a big part of the 2025 Porsche 911’s appeal. It looks handsome, rides well, and remains usable enough for everyday driving, which helps it stand out as more than just a weekend sports car. There are a few drawbacks, though: highway wind buffeting can be noticeable, the tech is slightly confusing, and the base model no longer offers a manual transmission.
