Which Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander offers these trims:

• ES: The entry trim gives you the Outlander’s core layout and the standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making it the starting point if you want the model’s tech and three-row packaging.
• SE: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest mix of equipment and price, adding adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention, traffic sign recognition, a hands-free power liftgate, heated front seats, native navigation, a wireless charging pad, and a surround-view camera system.
• SEL: This trim adds quilted leather seats, soft-touch surfaces, and a more upscale cabin feel, with available upgrades such as the Tech Package, Premium Package, rear camera mirror, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, and premium leather interior.
• SEL Platinum Edition: This version adds a light grey interior, special badging, and puddle lights for shoppers who want the most distinctive appearance in the lineup.

What Mitsubishi Outlander do most buyers choose?

The Mitsubishi Outlander years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and a wider spread of prices and deal quality. That usually makes it easier to find the right combination of features, condition, and value.

What is the Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the lineup, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. Several years are posting double-digit drops, while the smaller declines at the lower end suggest some older examples have already absorbed more of their value loss.

The 2016, 2019, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

• 2025: 7/10
• 2022: 8/10
• 2018: 8/10
• 2016: 7/10

For the safest used buy, the 2018 and 2022 models both post the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Mitsubishi Outlander now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −12.38% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −9.66%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 38.8% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 38.4%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $22,603. The Mitsubishi Outlander offers a practical three-row layout and a comfortable, family-friendly character.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The Outlander lives with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, and the EPA gives it a fuel rating of 26 miles per gallon combined.
• Tech: Every Outlander gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus USB-C ports and a wireless charging pad.
• Safety: The latest model adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention, and traffic sign recognition on the SE.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
