For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking service history carefully and confirming recall work has been completed, especially on older examples.

What should I look for when buying a used Kia Soul?

Across all model years, at 71.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: For 2023, Kia has made some previously optional driver-assist features standard, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and a driver attention monitor.
• Infotainment: A digital instrument cluster and 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system are standard on the base LX trim level; higher trim levels get a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, plus wireless phone charging and two USB center console charge ports in addition to the standard port located at the base of the center stack.
• Fuel efficiency: Most 2023 Kia Soul models get EPA-rated fuel economy of 30 mpg combined (28 mpg city, 33 mpg highway), but the Kia Soul EX is rated slightly higher at 31 mpg combined 29 mpg city, 35 mpg highway).

Which Kia Soul trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Soul offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim brings the digital instrument cluster and 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, plus standard driver-assist features and the Soul’s core value-focused setup.
• S: This trim adds lane change assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, automatic high beams, and voice recognition, making it the best-value step up for many shoppers.
• EX: This trim adds the 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless phone charging, and two USB center console charge ports, along with the slightly higher fuel-economy rating.
• GT-Line: This trim adds the sportiest look, with optional 18-inch wheels and a centered exhaust tip, and it can be paired with the GT-Line Technology Package for more convenience and driver-assist equipment.

What Kia Soul do most buyers choose?

The Kia Soul years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

These higher-volume years tend to draw the most attention because they combine broader availability with newer features and more current design. That usually gives you more choices at a range of prices, which makes shopping easier.

What is the Kia Soul's resale value?

Most Kia Soul model years are down year over year, which is good news if you are shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The steepest drops are concentrated in the newer and mid-cycle years, while several older years are falling more gradually. That pattern suggests there are opportunities across the lineup, especially if you are flexible on model year.

The 2024, 2018, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
