Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: The 2024 Tucson includes a standard suite of driver assistance features such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Infotainment: The 2024 Tucson includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
Which Hyundai Tucson trim should I buy?
The 2024 Hyundai Tucson offers these trims:
- SE: The entry trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, a manually adjustable driver’s seat, HD radio, power windows, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. It is the best-value starting point if you want the Tucson’s core strengths at the lowest price.
- SEL: This trim adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, and two more USB ports.
- XRT: This trim adds unique black 19-inch alloy wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, functional roof racks, and features from the SEL Convenience Package, including synthetic leather upholstery.
- Limited: This trim adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose premium stereo system, memory settings for the driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Hyundai’s Smart Park remote-parking feature, and a blind-spot camera system.
What Hyundai Tucson do most buyers choose?
The Hyundai Tucson years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 7,756 | 37.3% |
| 2025 | 7,471 | 37.2% |
| 2023 | 6,406 | 36.6% |
| 2026 | 4,337 | 38.2% |
| 2022 | 3,844 | 37.1% |
| 2021 | 2,560 | 36% |
Higher-volume model years tend to be the most popular because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread to shop, and more chances to find the trim and condition you want. They also usually sit close to the sweet spot between newer features and used-car value.
What is the Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

| 2014 | $8,566 | −8.59% |
| 2020 | $15,811 | −8.25% |
| 2021 | $17,268 | −7.91% |
| 2019 | $14,211 | −7.07% |
| 2016 | $11,340 | −3.54% |
| 2015 | $9,673 | −3.29% |
| 2018 | $13,060 | −2.6% |
| 2023 | $23,092 | −2.57% |
| 2017 | $12,614 | −1.42% |
| 2024 | $23,578 | −0.55% |
Most Tucson model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want to stretch your budget. The biggest drops are concentrated in several newer and mid-cycle years, while a few recent models are changing only slightly. That pattern suggests there are still opportunities to find strong value across much of the lineup.
The 2024 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.
The 2024, 2017, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Why it stands out
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson stands out as a compact SUV that leans hard into value, technology, and everyday usability. Hyundai’s long-running formula of giving shoppers a lot of features for the money is especially evident here, and the Tucson’s generous warranty coverage adds to its appeal. It also benefits from a design that is more distinctive than plain, with a high-tech exterior look and a cabin that, in its latest form, feels more modern than before.
For 2025, the Tucson received a minor styling update with a subtly revised grille and bumpers, but the bigger changes are inside. The dashboard now uses a single rectangular panel that houses both a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a touchscreen side by side, and all models gained a new climate control layout. Equipment remains a strong point, with available features such as wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor, lane centering, a surround-view camera system, and Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist. The Tucson also offers all-wheel drive, and its safety record is a notable strength, with the 2022 Tucson earning top marks from both NHTSA and IIHS.
There are tradeoffs, though. The standard Tucson is one of the slower SUVs in its class, and its suspension is tuned for comfort rather than excitement. Even so, that character fits the Tucson’s mission well: it is an efficient, well-equipped, and easy-to-live-with compact SUV that makes a strong case for buyers who care more about features and practicality than outright performance.
