Used Hyundai Tucson for Sale nearMidland, TX

How much does the Hyundai Tucson cost in today's market?

Used Hyundai Tucson prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Hyundai Tucson's current nationwide average price is $20,682, and its lowest point over the past year was $19,428.

Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the Hyundai Tucson is a strong used SUV choice if you want value, comfort, and a well-equipped cabin.

The all-generations owner rating is 4.52/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Tucson for its comfortable ride, spacious interior, and strong value for money. They also frequently highlight the modern tech and feature-rich cabin, which helps the Tucson feel especially well rounded for everyday use.

Expert reviews rate the 2024 and 2022 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs across recent expert-tested years center on engine performance, infotainment frustration in some trims, and a learning curve with certain controls. Even so, the Tucson’s broad feature content and comfort-first character make it an appealing used buy for shoppers who want practicality and everyday ease.

38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Hyundai Tucson models reliable?

Owners consistently describe the Tucson as comfortable, practical, and good value, and expert coverage reinforces its strong everyday usability and well-rounded character. Across the lineup, you also see repeated praise for the smooth ride and spacious cabin.

• Owners rate the Hyundai Tucson between 3.67 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing a well-documented example with a clean history and a strong maintenance record.

What should I look for when buying a used Hyundai Tucson?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Hyundai SmartSense with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.

Which Hyundai Tucson trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Tucson offers these trims:

• SE: The entry trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, a manually adjustable driver’s seat, HD radio, power windows, and an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
• SEL: This trim adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, and two more USB ports, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.
• XRT: This trim adds unique black 19-inch alloy wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, functional roof racks, and features from the SEL Convenience Package, including synthetic leather upholstery.
• Limited: The top trim adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose premium stereo system, memory settings for the driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Hyundai’s Smart Park remote-parking feature, and a blind-spot camera system.

What Hyundai Tucson do most buyers choose?

The Hyundai Tucson years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you the broadest mix of availability, pricing, and feature content. When more listings are on the market, you usually have a better chance of finding the right trim, mileage, and condition for your budget.

What is the Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

Most Tucson model years are down year over year, which is helpful if you’re shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The biggest drops are concentrated in newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples are down more modestly. That pattern suggests there are opportunities across the lineup, especially if you’re flexible on model year.

The 2024 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2024, 2017, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Hyundai Tucson safe?

• 2024: 10/10
• 2022: 9/10
• 2021: 8/10
• 2016: 10/10

Hyundai SmartSense comes standard on the 2024 Tucson, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

For the safest used buy, the 2016 and 2024 models both post the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Hyundai Tucson now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −11.41% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −0.25%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 40.6% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 40.7%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $23,578. The Hyundai Tucson offers a comfortable ride, roomy cabin, and a practical, well-rounded feel that suits everyday driving.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The 2024 Hyundai Tucson comes equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, 187 horsepower, and 178 pound-feet of torque.
• Tech: The standard infotainment system includes an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and higher trims add a fully digital instrument panel and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen.
• Safety: The latest model adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Hyundai’s Smart Park remote-parking feature, and a blind-spot camera system.
• Starting price: $27,250 for the SE trim.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
