2010 Honda Accord Crosstour EX-L 4WD Review
by mav1964

A very solid vehicle all around, Honda came very close to making a perfect CUV

The build quality is far superior to the Venza that I owned previously. I know the "net chatter" has been negative, but you really have to see the car in person and drive it to appreciate its attributes. The ride is smooth and quiet, much like a luxury car that would cost more. The braking is solid and you feel the road with the steering. In additi...

Avg. Dealer Rating: (2 reviews) "I emailed Bob (guy who handles internet sales) about a focus titanium and let him know I was interested but lived over 100 miles away. I needed to know if the car had ANYTHING wrong with it before I drove the long distance. I also informed Bob I was coming with a check in hand as I did not want to drive home again to go to my bank only to drive up to the dealership again. He assured me the there was nothing wrong with the car so I stopped at the bank, picked up the check, and started my 100+ mile journey. On my way to the dealership Bob text me to tell me he had to leave that day and to ask for a salesman named Sam. It was all setup for Sam to take care of me as this was a done deal as long as the car checked out the way Bob said it would. When I arrived Sam was busy with another buyer but told me to go check out the car while he finished up. As soon as I saw the car I noticed the new tires that the ad had noted (they still had the nobbies on them). When I opened the door I noticed the car didn't have leather seats. This was a problem as it was advertised with leather. But I did drive a long, long way so I was willing to overlook this if the rest of the car checked out. As it turns out the missing leather was only the start of this horrible experience. I took the car out for a test drive and immediately noticed the steering wheel was turned to the 2 o'clock position when the car was going straight. I've never seen a car out of alignment this bad. How did Bob not mention this to me through emails or on the phone??? And how was this car this jacked up after being on the dealers lot since January??? Total Busch league! I made sure to ask Bob about even small scratches I needed to know about before I drove all that way. When I returned to the dealer I told Sam I wasn't buying the car and I was extremely unhappy I was lied to about the leather, and the condition of the car. He asked me to please talk to the sales a manger and I agreed. I was 2 hours from home at this point so why not. That's when I met Trevor. As you'd expect Trevor promised to fix it all like a typical sales manager would. He said he'd have his guys look at the car in the morning, have it fixed, and deliver it to my house. He claimed to realize how bad his company had treated me and wanted to fix it. I don't know why but I agreed to save this deal and buy the car if they fixed it and delivered it to me. I'd like to tell you it all worked out and I now own a great car..... Can't do that though. Next day I had to email them around lunch as they never got back to me. Bob said the car was now aligned but it needed two new rear tires and that would cost me (yes you read that correctly it was going to cost ME) $200. I told Bob the tires were advertised as "New" in the online ad, and I had looked at them the day before and they were in fact "NEW". Bob said they had flat spots and needed replaced and it was going to cost me $200. He said he was trying to "fix" the situation and make me happy. And his way of doing that was to charge me $200 more after I drove 200 miles round trip to buy a car that wasn't as advertised. This was enough for me. At this point I felt like I had been lied to by Bob multiple times. So I called back to talk to sales manager Trevor whom I met the night before And I was told Trevor wasn't the sale manager at all. Odd since Sam told me he wanted me to talk to the sales manager and brought Trevor to me the night before. More lies? Sure seems that way. Trevor told me I was no longer dealing with Bob and he'd take care of it. He called me back hours later and told me he talked to the "higher ups" and they couldn't take anymore money off the car. The focus has been for sale for over 90 days and it had dropped in price a few times already. I would have to pay $200 (which I was assured by Trevor was the dealer cost) if I wanted to buy the focus. Odd that the tires were exactly $100 a piece dealer cost. Sure seems like more lies. The deal I made was $11,900 for the focus. They had it listed for $12,400, and now they wanted $12,100 for it and they'd deliever it. $200 more dollars for an issue that wasn't mine at all. In NO way did they try to resolve this problem. The solution they came up with after telling me they'd take care of the cars problems and deliver it to me was to charge me $200. Great solution for the dealership. Let's try to charge the customer more money and make them think we are helping them. After thinking about it a bit I figured they were trying to charge me the extra $200 to offset they're cost of delivering the focus to me. The car did NOT need new tires period. They were brand new when I saw them. I'm guessing the dealership needed to offset the cost of 2 employees, 4 hours for those employees, and two cars and gas to deliever the focus to me. Like I said the tires were new and in no way needed to be replaced. I feel like I was lied to multiple times, by multiple people from this dealership. The ad they had online was not correct, the car was not as advertised, and when the dealership messed up they tried to pass the cost off on me. In no way is any of this acceptable to me. I would NEVER deal with this dealership again, or any of the three sales people I dealt with again. If I had read a review like this before I contacted this dealership I would have NEVER contacted them to begin with. I hope this helps someone down the road."
