| 2018 | 64.1% |
| 2017 | 61.6% |
| 2016 | 60.7% |
| 2015 | 61.6% |
| 2014 | 60.7% |
Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2021 models.
What Buick Encore do most buyers choose?
The Buick Encore years with the most listings are 2018, 2019, and 2017.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 1,506 | 30.4% |
| 2019 | 1,327 | 32.4% |
| 2017 | 1,216 | 28.5% |
| 2016 | 1,082 | 28.1% |
| 2020 | 1,054 | 33.6% |
| 2015 | 833 | 29.2% |
These higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a wider selection and more pricing competition. That usually gives you more room to compare condition, mileage, and deal quality before you buy.
What is the Buick Encore's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 | $14,903 | −12.73% |
| 2020 | $13,301 | −11.43% |
| 2019 | $12,531 | −11.39% |
| 2017 | $10,622 | −6.63% |
| 2018 | $11,335 | −6.39% |
| 2015 | $8,998 | −5.11% |
| 2016 | $9,983 | −3.21% |
| 2022 | $18,856 | −3.19% |
| 2014 | $8,400 | −3.18% |
Most model years show lower prices than a year ago, and several recent years have seen especially sharp drops. That creates better entry points for used buyers, particularly if you're shopping newer examples. The 2014, 2022, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Should I buy a used Buick Encore now?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2022 model is at −3.19% versus a year ago, and the 2021 model is at −12.73%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $11,335.
If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability.

The car was in good shape from looks and seemed to run okay, but has the check engine light on. The sales rep would not hook it up to the code reader unless I confirmed I wanted to buy it. I would not buy a car for my 16 year old with a check engine light on without knowing what or how much would need to be spent to fix it. It could have been something simple, but could have been something expensive too.

I like the car and all it offers. The car value is good. The only thing that is missing is a sunroof I like sunroof cars.

I was completely shocked by how roomy the driver seat was. Im 65 300# and have more than enough leg room, the driver seat is very comfortable. I love the android auto/ Bluetooth to play music from my phone., plus I can do everything hands free by saying Hey Google. Surprisingly great gas mileage for an AWD.
