CarGurus Analysis: 2026 Toyota Corolla
Summary
With 5,440 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,377, 39.1% of 2026 Toyota Corolla listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2026 Toyota Corolla 5 / 5 stars.
88.4% of 2026 Toyota Corolla listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2026 Toyota Corolla stands out because it combines the Corolla’s long-running reputation for practicality with a broader range of body styles and trims than many buyers expect from a compact car. For 2026, Toyota made blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert standard across all trims, and a 7.0-inch gauge cluster also became standard, replacing the previous 4.2-inch unit. The XSE gets a standard 12.3-inch gauge cluster. Those updates help the Corolla feel more modern without changing its core appeal as an easy-to-live-with everyday car.
It also offers unusual variety for the class. The sedan, hatchback, hybrid sedan, and GR Corolla each serve a different kind of buyer, and the lineup includes front-wheel drive as standard for most versions, with all-wheel drive available on the sedan and hybrid models. The hybrid pairs a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors for 121 combined horsepower and 52 mpg combined fuel economy, while gas models use a 2.0-liter engine with 169 horsepower. Toyota also added a facelift for the 2023 model year with fresh bumper designs, an eight-inch touchscreen, climate control, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, which means the 2026 Corolla benefits from a well-developed, feature-rich version of the current generation.
For shoppers, the Corolla’s appeal is straightforward: it is well equipped, efficient, and backed by a strong reliability reputation. The latest Corolla was the top-rated compact car in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, and Toyota was named the top brand for reliability in the 2025 Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey. Its main drawbacks are also familiar Corolla traits: some versions are bland, and the model has never been about excitement first. But for buyers who want a sensible compact car with broad choice and proven durability, the 2026 Toyota Corolla makes a strong case.
