New & Used 2026 Toyota C-HR for Sale nearSilver Spring, MD

Is the 2026 Toyota C-HR a good car?

The 2026 Toyota C-HR earns an expert rating of 7/10. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

It’s a fully electric compact crossover that leans into personality and driving enjoyment, with 338 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. That makes it a strong fit if you want an EV that feels quick and engaging rather than maximally practical. The trade-offs are clear: the back seat is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the charging setup is described as mid-pack.

For used-car shoppers, the market signal is still decent, with 31.4% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Toyota C-HR reliable?

The 2026 Toyota C-HR is positioned as a straightforward EV with standard all-wheel drive, a shared platform and battery setup, and a warranty package that includes eight years or 100,000 miles of battery coverage. Toyota also includes two years or 25,000 miles of routine maintenance through ToyotaCare, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

Its electric powertrain is described as smooth and immediate, and the battery preconditioning system activates automatically when you route to a fast charger. That said, the charging experience is described as adequate rather than class-leading, and the battery-preconditioning feature becomes subscription-based after the initial trial period. For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical complexity and more about making sure the battery, charging behavior, and connected features still work as expected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota C-HR?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with charging-related concerns. Focus on cabin condition, wheel and tire wear, and whether the vehicle’s tech and driver-assistance features operate correctly. Because this is an EV, battery health and charging behavior deserve extra attention during your test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE and XSE differ most in appearance and equipment. The XSE adds larger 20-inch wheels, while the SE uses 18-inch wheels. The cabin is well finished in both trims, but the XSE’s available materials and options give it a more upscale feel. If you want the best value, the SE is the stronger starting point because it delivers the core C-HR experience at the lower price.
• Powertrain: The C-HR uses a dual-motor AWD setup with 338 hp and an estimated 4.9-second 0-60 mph time. The front motor produces 167 kilowatts and 198 pound-feet of torque, while the rear motor adds 87 kW and 125 lb-ft. It’s quick, smooth, and especially strong in corners.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-departure and lane-keep assists, automatic high-beam headlights, road sign recognition, blind-spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, and eight airbags. The XSE adds a surround-view monitor camera system, traffic jam assist, and lane-change assist.
• Infotainment: Every C-HR gets a 14-inch touchscreen, a fully digital driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota’s voice assistant, cloud navigation, and OTA updates. The XSE can also be equipped with a nine-speaker JBL premium audio system.
• Range & charging: Toyota estimates 287 miles of range on the SE and 273 miles on the XSE. The battery is 74.7 kilowatt-hours, DC fast charging peaks at 150 kW, and Toyota says a 10% to 80% charge can take roughly 30 minutes under ideal conditions. Home charging uses an 11-kW onboard charger and can fill the battery in roughly 7.5 hours.
• Battery health: Check the battery state of health, confirm normal charging speeds on both home and DC fast charging, and make sure the battery preconditioning function works as intended. Also verify how much of the battery warranty remains, since that coverage is a key part of the used-EV value proposition.

Which 2026 Toyota C-HR trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota C-HR is offered in 2 trim levels: SE and XSE.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the best-value trim. It gives you the full dual-motor AWD powertrain, the standard safety suite, the 14-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the core C-HR driving experience at the lower price. If you care most about value and range, this is the trim to start with.
• XSE: This is the better pick if you want the more upscale and better-equipped version. It adds the larger 20-inch wheels, available two-tone paint, and extra safety tech including the surround-view monitor, traffic jam assist, and lane-change assist. Choose it if those upgrades matter enough to justify the price jump.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every trim, but the XSE gets additional driver-assistance features that the SE does not.

Is the 2026 Toyota C-HR safe?

The 2026 Toyota C-HR comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-departure and lane-keep assists, automatic high-beam headlights, road sign recognition, blind-spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, and eight airbags.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The XSE trim adds a surround-view monitor camera system, traffic jam assist, and lane-change assist, which are meaningful upgrades if you want the most complete safety and convenience package. No crash-test ratings were published at the time of writing, so you should lean on the standard equipment list and trim differences when comparing used examples.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota C-HR or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It stands out as Toyota’s quirkiest EV crossover, with 338 horsepower, standard AWD, and a fun-to-drive personality that prioritizes driving enjoyment over maximum utility.

The bottom line: If you want a used EV crossover that’s quick, distinctive, and reasonably priced, the 2026 Toyota C-HR is the right direction to take. If your priorities are cargo room, rear-seat space, or the fastest charging experience, you should shop more selectively and be open to alternatives that fit those needs better.
