New & Used 2026 Dodge Durango for Sale near Ashford, CT

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It is an unusually old design that still gives you many of the traits midsize SUV shoppers want, including three-row seating, strong power, and plenty of practicality. If you value V8 power and sound, the Durango has a clear appeal, and its distinctive styling helps it stand out. The trade-offs are just as clear: the interior materials feel dated, modern safety features are lacking, and fuel economy is poor.

For you, that means the Durango makes the most sense if you want a family SUV with a more emotional, muscle-car-like personality than most rivals. Good and great deals account for 38.6% of listings, which supports its value case.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango reliable?

The Durango’s long-running design and familiar controls suggest a straightforward ownership experience, and its performance hardware is described as smooth and unobtrusive in operation. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is presented as a strong, capable upgrade, and the eight-speed automatic transmission is called smooth and unobtrusive as well.

On the cost side, Dodge includes a five-year subscription to SiriusXM live traffic and travel info, which adds some ownership convenience. Even so, the Durango’s age, dated structure, and poor fuel economy mean long-term ownership risk is still something you should weigh carefully as a used buyer.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with performance equipment. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the vehicle’s features and trim level match the price you are being asked to pay.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GT is the most stripped-down version, with a no-name six-speaker stereo, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The GT Plus brings leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad, while the GT Premium adds more driver-assistance features and a 19-speaker stereo.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 makes 360 hp and 390 lb-ft and raises towing capacity to 8,700 pounds. The 6.4-liter V8 and supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat engine are also part of the lineup.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.
• Infotainment: Every Durango gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L, over-the-air updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Android Auto is wired.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returns 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway in AWD form, while the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 returns 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 drops to 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is offered in 6 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, GT Plus AWD Hemi V8, GT Premium AWD Hemi V8, SRT Hellcat, and Hellcat Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Durango’s core personality at the lowest price. It comes with rear-wheel drive, the standard V6, and the basic infotainment setup, but it is the least equipped version overall.
• GT Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad. If you want a more comfortable daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to target.
• GT Plus AWD Hemi V8: Choose this if you want the GT Plus equipment but also want the stronger Hemi V8 and standard all-wheel drive. It also adds high-beam assist, a sunroof, and Nappa leather.
• GT Premium AWD Hemi V8: This is the more upscale choice, with a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver-assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo. It suits you if you want the most polished non-performance Durango.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the extreme performance model, with 710 horsepower, huge Brembo brakes, sport suspension, and adaptive dampers. It is for you if outright speed and drama matter more than comfort or efficiency.
• Hellcat Jailbreak: This is the most customizable Hellcat version, and it adds performance-focused infotainment functions such as launch control and a custom driving mode. It is the pick if you want the wildest Durango experience.

Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard, while forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are limited to higher trims.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2026 Durango receives a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat. The Durango’s dated body structure also means it is not expected to perform as well in a crash as newer rivals designed around the latest IIHS tests.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It remains a three-row SUV with strong power, useful practicality, and a distinctive performance-first personality.

Consider the 2025 if:

• The 2025 model is a likable, roomy, practical three-row SUV with a more modern-feeling infotainment setup.

The bottom line: If you want the newest used Durango with strong market availability and you value its V8 character, the 2026 is the straightforward choice. If you are more price-sensitive and want a similar formula, the 2025 is worth a look for shoppers who prioritize value over the latest model year.
