New & Used 2026 Dodge Durango for Sale nearNew Haven, CT

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns an expert rating of 6.5/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

That score lines up with what you get from the Durango’s core appeal: a three-row SUV with big power, strong towing ability, and a distinctly old-school personality. It still gives you the practicality many midsize SUV shoppers want, plus a memorable exterior and familiar controls that make it easy to live with.

The trade-offs are just as clear. The interior materials feel dated, modern safety features are lacking, and fuel economy is poor. If you want V8 power and sound in a family hauler, the Durango has a real niche; if you want the newest design and the most polished cabin, it is harder to justify.

Good and great deals make up 40.3% of listings, which helps the Durango’s value case.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango reliable?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is presented as an older design that has been sold essentially unchanged since 2010, and that age shows up in the way it feels and in the way it is equipped. The expert assessment also points to a durable, familiar formula: a straightforward layout, analog controls, and a powertrain lineup built around proven V6 and V8 choices.

The performance notes reinforce that sense of mechanical familiarity. The eight-speed automatic is described as smooth and unobtrusive, and the available AWD system is presented as well integrated. On the cost side, the Durango’s value positioning and lower pricing help offset some of the concerns that come with its age.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is that an older platform can bring more age-related wear and more compromises than newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are looking at a higher-mileage example or one with performance equipment. Focus on cabin condition, switchgear wear, and how well the vehicle has been maintained, since the Durango’s age shows up most clearly in the interior and in its overall refinement.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GT is the most stripped-down version, while upper trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The GT Plus brings leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad, while the GT Premium adds a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver-assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo. The GT Premium is the best-value choice if you want the most complete everyday package without jumping to the Hellcat.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and the available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 makes 360 hp and 390 lb-ft while boosting towing capacity to 8,700 pounds. The 6.4-liter V8 and supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat engine are also available for buyers who want much more performance.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat. Many other modern driver-assist features are unavailable.
• Infotainment: Every Durango gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L, OTA updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay; Android Auto is wired. The base GT uses a no-name six-speaker stereo, most other trims get a nine-speaker Alpine system, and the GT Premium gets a 19-speaker Harman Kardon setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returns 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway in AWD form. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 returns 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway, and the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 drops to 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, GT Plus Hemi AWD, GT Premium Hemi AWD, and SRT Hellcat.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Durango’s core formula at the lowest price. It is the trim to choose if you mainly want the styling, space, and standard tech without paying for extra comfort or performance equipment.
• GT Plus: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad. It is the sweet spot if you want a more complete family SUV without going all the way up the lineup.
• GT Plus Hemi AWD: This trim adds the Hemi V8 and AWD, making it the right pick if you want stronger towing and a much more muscular driving experience. It also adds high-beam assist, a sunroof, and Nappa leather.
• GT Premium Hemi AWD: This is the most well-rounded upscale choice. It adds a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver-assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo, so it suits you if you want the richest Durango experience short of the Hellcat.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the extreme performance model, with the Durango’s most outrageous power and the most aggressive hardware. It makes sense only if you want the full performance personality and are willing to accept the compromises that come with it.

Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak; automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.

The Durango’s dated body structure is a key caveat, and the expert assessment notes that it will not perform as well in a crash as competitors designed around the most recent IIHS crash tests. Recent IIHS ratings were not available at the time of writing.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Choose the 2026 if: Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

• Choose the 2026 if: It is the oldest new vehicle on sale, but still delivers V8 power, practical three-row space, and strong value.

• Consider the 2025 if: It was the final year and still offered a likable, roomy, practical interior with a modern infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the newest used Durango available in this comparison window, the 2026 is the straightforward choice because it keeps the model’s core strengths intact and benefits from strong deal availability. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a look for its similar character and potentially lower asking prices.
