Is the 2025 Volvo S60 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2025 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that blends Scandinavian design, strong safety credentials, and a broad range of powertrains. It is built on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture and shares its platform with the S90, XC90, XC60, and V60, while also being the first Volvo model assembled in North America. Volvo’s top-down approach means even base models come with a panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen, giving the cabin a premium feel without requiring a top trim.

For you, that means the S60 makes the most sense if you want a stylish, safety-focused luxury sedan with a more individual character than the usual German alternatives. The cabin equipment and comfort-first setup make it especially appealing if you value a premium feel without needing to climb the trim ladder. 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2025 Volvo S60 continues to emphasize safety, with City Safety standard on every car, and it has earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in both 2021 and 2022. Volvo’s broad use of shared architecture and its focus on standard equipment also support a sense of consistency in the model’s design and ownership experience.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained carefully, especially if you are considering a more complex powertrain configuration.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and confirm that the car’s condition matches the listing description. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics, safety systems, and overall wear, since the S60’s appeal depends heavily on its premium features and comfort. If you are considering a used example with a more complex setup, pay extra attention to how smoothly everything operates during a test drive.

What is the 2025 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $35,041 sits slightly above last year's $32,380.

That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this model year, which can help support resale value if you buy carefully. The year-over-year increase also signals that demand has remained healthy enough to keep prices from softening. For a future seller, that means a well-kept example with the right equipment and condition should remain competitive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.22% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2025 if you want the most current version of the S60’s design, equipment, and market positioning. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry price while still delivering much of the same core Volvo character.
