CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Toyota Sienna
overall

Summary
With 1,665 currently listed for sale and an average price of $48,061.00, 31.5% of 2025 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Toyota Sienna 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.33 / 10.
94.5% of 2025 Sienna models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Sienna stands out in the minivan class by pairing a standard hybrid powertrain with practical everyday usability. It is also described as getting on in years, but it still brings a mix of strengths that make it a worthy contender, including great ride quality, a quiet cabin, and easy-to-use technology.
Its appeal is especially clear in the way it balances efficiency and versatility. The Sienna is said to promise 35 to 36 mpg in combined driving, and it offers an available all-wheel-drive system for extra traction. A Woodland Edition trim adds half an inch of extra ground clearance for light off-roading capability, giving it a bit more ruggedness than many shoppers expect from a minivan. Just as important, you never need to remove the second-row seats to use its cargo area, which makes day-to-day hauling simpler even though its maximum cargo capacity falls short of rivals.
There are still tradeoffs to consider. The transmission is described as irritating, and real-world fuel economy is noted as poor despite the strong combined mpg promise. Even so, the 2025 Toyota Sienna remains distinctive for buyers who want a comfortable, quiet minivan that emphasizes fuel savings, available AWD, and practical packaging.

Great handling car with an amazing amount of flexible storage. The XSE trim provides extra features for our sporting needs including the hidden tow and Hybrid makes this fuel efficient. No range anxiety when there is >800km on a full tank.

We looked at some platinum and XLE models. While platinum has built-in fridge and built in vacuum but it's also more pricey. While XLE doesn't have ottoman and second row entertainment unit. This model fits perfectly for my family's needs

There are 1,738 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $46,237.07, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Toyota Sienna earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.
It fits especially well if you want a minivan that emphasizes efficiency, everyday usability, and a quiet, comfortable drive. The overview also points to great ride quality, a quiet cabin, and easy-to-use technology, while the expert evaluation highlights the same practical strengths.
The trade-offs are worth weighing: the transmission is irritating, and the real-world fuel economy fell short in testing. It also gives up some outright cargo space compared with rivals.
With 25.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively without feeling rushed.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Sienna’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward hybrid setup and its focus on practical, everyday use. The expert evaluation also describes the powertrain as quiet in normal driving and notes that the minivan’s core mission is to maximize fuel economy and family usefulness.
ToyotaCare includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which adds some early ownership convenience. That said, the long-term risk for used buyers is that a vehicle with this much technology and hybrid hardware still deserves careful inspection and service-history review.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
Even with a strong clean-title share, you should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection. Focus on how the cabin, sliding doors, and hybrid systems have been used, and make sure the vehicle’s condition matches its mileage and asking price.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, and Platinum. Entry-level models have smaller displays, while higher-spec versions add a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. The Platinum trim also gets a more upscale interior finish, and the Woodland Edition adds extra ground clearance for light off-roading use.
- Powertrain: The Sienna uses a hybrid system with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, and available all-wheel drive adds a rear-mounted electric motor for extra traction. The setup is tuned for efficiency, but hard acceleration can bring out the CVT’s moaning.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard. The lane-centering system can waver a bit, and adaptive cruise control required human intervention in some sudden braking situations.
- Infotainment: Higher trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, and connected services support voice assistant features when active. An available entertainment package adds an 11.6-inch rear display, HDMI input, remote, and wireless headphones.
- Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating for the FWD test model was 36 mpg in combined driving, and Toyota says the Sienna promises 35 to 36 mpg in combined driving. In testing, it averaged 26.3 mpg on the evaluation loop.
Which 2025 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, and Platinum.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Sienna lineup and can live with the smaller display setup. It still gives you the core hybrid minivan formula, but you give up some of the richer tech and comfort upgrades found higher up.
- XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and convenience without pushing you all the way to luxury pricing. If you want a balanced mix of features and value, this is the one to focus on first.
- XSE: Choose this if you want the racier look and the sport-tuned suspension. It is the trim to consider if you care more about a slightly sharper driving character than maximum comfort.
- Limited: This is the step-up choice if you want a more premium-feeling Sienna with more of the high-end equipment that makes long family trips easier. It suits you if comfort and tech matter more than keeping the price in check.
- Woodland Edition: Pick this if you want the extra ground clearance and the light off-roading angle. It is the most specialized trim in the lineup for buyers who want a little more ruggedness.
- Platinum: This is the top-end choice if you want the most upscale presentation and the richest feature set. It is the trim to buy if you want the Sienna at its most fully equipped.
Toyota’s safety package is standard across the lineup, but the LE has a few equipment gaps compared with higher trims, especially in display and comfort features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?
The market looks moderate and selective, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.
- Deal availability: 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,738 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.04% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 94.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $46,237.07, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $47,960 sits slightly below last year's $50,507.
That softer pricing trend suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now. For future resale, the Sienna’s value will depend on how well it holds its reputation for efficiency, practicality, and family-friendly usability.
Because the average price is down year over year, you may have a better entry point than buyers did a year ago. If you keep mileage, condition, and service history in check, that can help protect your value when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna safe?
The 2025 Sienna earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, but it also earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star protection for the driver in a frontal impact. The IIHS says no minivan earns a Top Safety Pick rating.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard as well.
The main caveat is that the Sienna’s crash-test results are not spotless, especially for the driver in frontal impact. That makes careful test-drive evaluation and a close look at safety equipment especially important if you are shopping used.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.04% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It adds new rear-seat reminder technology and keeps the hybrid-only, family-focused formula.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $45,213, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $47,960 average.
- It emphasizes efficiency, comfort, and value.
The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year advantages and can find a strong deal, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you are comfortable giving up the newer-year updates.
