The 2025 Toyota Camry introduces a new hybrid powertrain, offering a smooth ride, exceptional fuel economy, and a spacious interior, making it a strong contender in the midsize sedan market.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Camry stands out in the competitive midsize sedan segment with its new hybrid-only lineup, which combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors to deliver a total of 225 horsepower for front-wheel-drive models and 232 horsepower for all-wheel-drive variants. This innovative powertrain not only enhances performance but also achieves impressive fuel efficiency, with estimates of up to 51 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive models. The Camry's redesign features a more assertive look, with a cohesive front end and sporty touches across various trims, including the option for a two-tone paint job. Inside, the cabin boasts a modern layout with an 8-inch or optional 12.3-inch touchscreen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a suite of advanced safety features through Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. While some users have noted the engine can be noisy at higher speeds, the overall package of reliability, safety, and value makes the 2025 Camry an appealing choice for families and commuters alike.

Good value for a new car considering used prices are a bit crazy right now. Ride is smooth , absorbs bumps and harsh roads are not a problem for this car. I average about 60 miles to and from work everyday and so far I average 52 mpg, most of it is highway miles too. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone.

Bought a 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid yesterday and it seems like a great car. I really like the idea that I can recharge the electric battery just by breaking and letting off of the accelerator. It has a lot of room and it was comparably priced with the Corolla.

Prices have softened 5.28% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
With 9,724 listings available, you have a solid amount of inventory to compare across trims and conditions.
If you find a listing below $27,661.93, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Toyota Camry earns a 4.88/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.
Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, comfort, and fuel economy, and many also value the hybrid setup for its gas mileage and overall value. The Camry’s standard all-wheel drive availability across the lineup adds everyday versatility, and the new design and updated interior give it a more modern feel for family use.
The main trade-offs are a noisy engine at higher speeds and a voice assistant that can be finicky. In practical terms, that means you’re getting a well-rounded midsize sedan that fits commuting and family duty especially well, but you should expect a few refinement quirks.
With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market flexibility to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry reliable?
Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback points to a car that feels dependable, trouble-free, and well suited to long-term ownership, with repeated praise for its smooth ride, comfort, and fuel economy. That kind of feedback matters because it suggests the Camry is the sort of sedan you can count on for daily use without much drama.
The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by describing the hybrid system as operating smoothly in the background and the braking feel as normal and easy to live with. Toyota also includes a first scheduled maintenance visit at no charge, which helps reduce early ownership friction.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about whether a specific example has been cared for well and kept free of avoidable wear.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report, verify service records, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a car with optional equipment. Focus on interior condition, infotainment operation, and whether the car’s features match the trim you expect, since some desirable items are reserved for higher versions or packages.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The LE starts with 16-inch alloy wheels and fabric seating surfaces, while the SE adds black 18-inch wheels and SofTex synthetic leather upholstery. The XSE brings 19-inch wheels and perforated leather seats, plus sportier exterior touches.
- Powertrain: Every Camry is hybrid, using a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors. Front-wheel-drive models make 225 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive versions make 232 horsepower and are estimated at 50 mpg combined versus 51 mpg combined for FWD.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. The Premium Plus Package on XLE and XSE adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
- Infotainment: Standard equipment includes an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and five USB ports. Higher trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, while XLE and XSE can add a 10-inch head-up display and JBL audio.
- Fuel efficiency: Toyota estimates 51 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive models and 50 mpg combined for all-wheel-drive models.
Which 2025 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, XSE.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The LE gives you the essentials, but you give up the more upscale wheels, upholstery upgrades, and sportier appearance cues found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The SE is the best value if you want a more polished look and feel, since it adds black 18-inch wheels and SofTex synthetic leather without jumping all the way to the top end.
- Premium/top trim: The XSE is the most upscale choice, with 19-inch wheels, perforated leather seats, and available two-tone paint for a more premium presentation.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across all trims, so you’re not forced to move up the lineup just to get core driver-assistance features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,724 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.28% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 90.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,661.93, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Camry's resale value?
The current average of $29,882 sits slightly below last year's $31,548.
That price movement suggests the Camry has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. A softer market today can also create a better entry point, which matters because resale value is strongest when your purchase price leaves room for later demand.
The Camry’s broad appeal, strong efficiency, and reputation for reliability should help it remain attractive to used buyers. That said, resale performance will still depend on trim, mileage, condition, and whether the car has the features shoppers want.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry safe?
It earns Top Safety Pick recognition from IIHS, and the 2024 Camry also scored well in frontal crash and rollover resistance tests with NHTSA.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it brings blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. If you want more advanced parking and traffic support, the available Premium Plus Package on XLE and XSE adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
The main caveat is that the 2025 model is too new to have completed independent crash testing yet, so you’re leaning on Toyota’s safety tech, the Camry’s track record, and the prior model’s results.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.28% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It debuts a new hybrid-only setup with updated styling, standard all-wheel drive availability, and a more modern interior.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds a Nightshade Edition and carries forward the hybrid formula with only modest changes.
The bottom line: If you want the newest Camry with the biggest step forward in design, tech, and standard hybrid hardware, the 2025 is the better target. If you’re mainly price-sensitive and can wait for a slightly newer used example, the 2026 may be worth watching for a broader trim mix and incremental updates.
