CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Jeep Wrangler
overall

Summary
With 5,733 currently listed for sale and an average price of $37,301.00, 34.1% of 2025 Jeep Wranglers for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 5.33 / 10.
94.7% of 2025 Wrangler models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler stands out because it stays true to its rugged, adventure-first identity. It offers the iconic looks and legendary off-road ability that define the nameplate, but it also remains somewhat out of step with the times. That contrast is part of its appeal: this is a vehicle built for buyers who want something rough, raw, and unrefined rather than polished and conventional.
For 2025, the Wrangler is available with two-door or four-door body styles, three engines, and seven trim levels. Standard power windows and door locks are now included across the lineup, and the V6/automatic drivetrain returns. Jeep also adds new colors called ’41, Mojito, and Joose. The Wrangler’s removable top and doors, along with drain holes in the floor, reinforce its easy-to-clean, go-anywhere character.
That same personality comes with tradeoffs. The Wrangler can be noisy, the ride quality is poor, and it is not a strong value for the money. Even so, its fun-to-drive nature and impressive off-roading capability make it appealing to buyers who prioritize capability and character over everyday refinement.

As a previous owner of a CJ7, and later a 1999 Wrangler, the 2025 Wrangler is very different. The clutch is feather light compared to any standard transmission I’ve ever driven. I love the ability to integrate my phone etc.. the Alpine stereo sounds good. The removable T top model sounds tight going down the road… Very little noise. The steering is easy yet responsive. The seats are comfortable and fit well even though I’m only 5’2” and my husband 6’1”. I wish the clutch were a bit more firm. But I’m sure I will get used to it and even prefer it overtime.

The trade-offs are clear: it can be noisy, the ride quality is poor, and it is not a strong value for the money.
For you, that means the Wrangler makes the most sense if capability and character matter more than everyday refinement.
30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler reliable?
Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Wrangler’s rugged design and go-anywhere hardware are part of its long-running appeal, and the expert evaluation describes it as a vehicle that stays true to its adventure-first identity. Its standard four-wheel drive, high ground clearance, and generous approach and departure angles support that reputation.
The turbocharged four-cylinder is described as a fine powerplant aside from its nasal idle note and loud cooling fan.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Wrangler’s durability story is tied to a vehicle that can be noisy, rough, and expensive to equip the way you want.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Jeep has been used off-road or modified. Focus on wear items, roof and door condition, and signs of hard use that can be easy to miss on a vehicle built for adventure.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Jeep offers the 2025 Wrangler in Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, and Rubicon 392 trims. The base Sport is the most basic setup, while the Sport S adds more everyday convenience and the higher trims bring more equipment and capability.
- Powertrain: The standard entry-level setup is a 3.6-liter V6 with a six-speed manual transmission, while the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder comes with an eight-speed automatic and is slightly more fuel-efficient. The V6 can save you money up front, while the turbo four may feel livelier at higher elevations.
- Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on any Wrangler except the base Sport trim. Forward collision warning with automatic braking requires the Sahara, and adaptive cruise control is also available on some automatic-transmission models.
- Infotainment: The Uconnect 5 system includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio preparation. More expensive models can add navigation and Jeep Connect connected services.
- Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged four-cylinder is rated at 21 mpg in combined driving, compared with 19-20 mpg for the V6.
Which 2025 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 7 trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, and Rubicon 392.
Here's the short version:
- Sport: This is the most basic Wrangler, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and plan to keep the build simple.
- Sport S: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds more everyday usability while staying close to the core Wrangler formula.
- Willys: Choose this if you want a more capability-focused setup without jumping all the way to the upper trims.
- Sahara: This is the trim to target if you want more comfort and the safety-package access that includes forward collision warning with automatic braking.
- Rubicon: Pick this if off-road capability is your priority and you want the Wrangler’s more serious trail-oriented character.
- Rubicon X: This is for buyers who want a more premium take on the Rubicon formula with more equipment.
- Rubicon 392: This is the extreme choice, with a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and a six-figure price tag.
The safety-package gap at the base Sport trim is worth noting, since some driver-assistance features are not available there.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 5,825 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.11% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 94.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $37,227.75, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?
The current average of $37,241 sits slightly below last year's $44,392.
That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If demand stays steady, a lower entry price can also reduce the amount of value you stand to lose over time.
The Wrangler’s strong identity and loyal following help support demand, especially for buyers who want its off-road character and removable-top appeal. That said, resale will still depend heavily on trim, condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler safe?
The Wrangler earns a Good rating in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test and a Good rating for side-impact protection from IIHS. The NHTSA gives it a four-star frontal-impact rating and a three-star rollover resistance rating.
It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
Jeep added side curtain airbags for the front and rear seats starting with the 2024 Wrangler, and that remains a meaningful safety improvement. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on most trims except the base Sport, while forward collision warning with automatic braking requires the Sahara.
The main caveat is the Wrangler’s Marginal result in the small overlap frontal-impact test, where it tipped onto its side during testing. That result is a reminder that this is still a vehicle built more for trail ability than crash-test perfection.
Should I buy a 2025 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.11% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It adds standard power windows and door locks across the lineup, plus new exterior colors and the return of the V6/automatic drivetrain.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $38,583, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $37,241 average.
- It adds a mid-cycle refresh focused on technology, safety, and refinement.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds an enhanced hinge system that makes the doors easier to remove.
The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary target if you want the latest pricing advantage and the current-year feature set. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2024 can still make sense if you find a strong example with the refresh-related upgrades you want. If you care most about easier door removal and can wait, the 2026 is worth a look.
