Used 2025 Hyundai Sonata for Sale nearSpringfield, IL

How much does the 2025 Hyundai Sonata cost?

Prices have softened 7.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,009 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Generally — the 2025 Hyundai Sonata earns 4/5 from users and 9.00/10 from our experts. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The Sonata is positioned as a value-focused midsize sedan with strong safety credentials, and it also brings a bit of personality if you want the N Line. The standard car is comfortable and well equipped, while the N Line adds a more engaging, sporty character and unusually strong horsepower for the price.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may not appeal to everyone, and the gas models are not especially fuel-efficient. The N Line also gives up all-wheel drive, so if traction flexibility matters to you, that is worth weighing carefully.

Good and great deals account for 38.8% of listings, which suggests you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sonata is presented as a safe, value-oriented family sedan, and its 2025 updates strengthen that case further. The expert review also emphasizes that Hyundai improved the car’s safety performance for this model year, which supports confidence if you plan to keep the car for the long haul.

The performance notes point to a broad lineup, including a base engine and a more powerful N Line, while the value notes highlight generous warranty coverage, roadside assistance, and free scheduled service. That combination helps reduce ownership friction early on.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the sportier versions trade efficiency for performance, so your ownership costs can rise if you prioritize the more powerful setup.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Sonata?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, verify service records, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a sportier trim. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the car’s equipment works as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes SE, SEL, SEL Convenience, and N Line. The base setup is more straightforward, while the higher trims add more equipment and the N Line brings the most emotional appeal if you want a sportier feel.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 191-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while the N Line uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 290 hp and 311 pound-feet of torque. The gas models are not very fuel-efficient, and the N Line trades efficiency for stronger performance.
• Safety package: Every 2025 Sonata has SmartSense, including forward collision warning with intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Highway Driving Assist is standard on the N Line, while the Hybrid Limited adds more advanced parking and camera features.
• Infotainment: All models have a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth for two phones. SEL Convenience adds navigation, wireless charging, and digital key technology, while the N Line adds Hyundai Pay and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The N Line is rated at 27 mpg in combined driving, and the hybrid is noted for returning 47 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 Hyundai Sonata trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Sonata is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Convenience, and N Line.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the simplest path into the Sonata lineup, and it makes sense if you want the core value story without paying for extra equipment you may not need.
• SEL: This is the trim that gives you a broader balance of everyday comfort and equipment, and it is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup without pushing into sportier pricing.
• SEL Convenience: This is the right pick if you want the more advanced tech and convenience upgrades, including navigation, wireless charging, and digital key technology.
• N Line: This is the trim to choose if you want the Sonata’s most engaging personality, with the turbocharged engine, sport-tuned hardware, and premium audio; it is the one that best suits buyers who care about driving enjoyment.

Highway Driving Assist is standard on the N Line, and the Hybrid Limited gets additional camera and parking-assist features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,009 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.53% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,950, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $21,950 sits slightly below last year's $23,738.

That price movement suggests the Sonata has become more attractive to used buyers, which can help support demand if you eventually sell. A lower entry price can also make it easier for your car to stay competitive against similarly equipped midsize sedans.

For a future seller, the key advantage is that the Sonata still brings strong value, safety, and equipment for the money. That combination can help it hold buyer interest even as the market shifts.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Sonata safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Sonata earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and earns five-star ratings in nearly every assessment performed by NHTSA, including rollover resistance. The only evaluation resulting in a four-star rating was the driver’s side protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2025 Sonata has standard SmartSense, Hyundai’s driver-assistance suite. Standard features include forward collision warning with intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Highway Driving Assist is standard on the N Line, and the Hybrid Limited adds a surround-view camera system, Blind Spot View Monitor, parking assistance features, and Remote Smart Parking Assist. The main caveat is that the N Line’s lane-keeping assist and navigation-based curve slowing can feel intrusive in some driving situations.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model year brings improved crash-test performance and added rear-seat air conditioning vents.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and current-market pricing, the 2025 is the better path. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also keep an eye on older examples, but the 2025’s safety improvements and softer pricing make it the more compelling buy right now.
