How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 3.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,903 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability for shoppers.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2025 Civic is positioned as a straightforward gas-only compact car with sedan and hatchback appeal, and it keeps the formula focused on everyday usability with driver appeal. It is described as fun to drive, and it also offers a manual transmission for shoppers who want a more involved experience. Google Built-In adds a modern tech touch, while the trade-offs include no all-wheel drive, irritating lane-keeping assist behavior, and a manual setup that lacks some user-friendly features.

With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Civic is presented as a refined update to an already well-regarded compact car, with Honda making subtle but meaningful changes rather than a full redesign. The expert review also points to a balanced package that remains satisfying to drive while staying practical for everyday use. The performance notes emphasize a forgiving, user-friendly driving experience, and the cost-effectiveness section highlights strong fuel economy for the base model.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a car with this much driver-assist and infotainment tech should be checked carefully for proper operation and wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, even if the market looks clean overall. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you want to confirm that the car’s driver-assistance systems, infotainment, and transmission behavior are all working as expected. Focus on condition, equipment, and how the car was used, since those factors matter more than mileage alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only lineup is split into LX, Sport, and Civic Si, and the base trims are more basic than the Si in both appearance and equipment.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower, while the Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and a six-speed manual.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard, with updated collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist; the lane-keep system can still feel aggressive.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Si gets a 9-inch screen, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 32 mpg city, 41 highway, and 36 combined, while the Si is rated at 27 mpg city, 37 highway, and 31 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the best-value choice if you want the lowest starting point and the strongest fuel economy in the gas-only lineup.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a little more equipment and a slightly richer feel without jumping to the enthusiast-focused Si.
• Civic Si: This is the clear pick for driving enthusiasts, with the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, stronger tech, and the most distinctive character in the gas lineup.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you get the core safety package no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,903 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,180, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,180 sits slightly below last year's $26,046.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. If the market continues to favor shoppers, resale values may stay under pressure unless the car is especially clean, well equipped, and well maintained. Strong condition and desirable equipment should matter more when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic earns Top Safety Pick+ recognition from the IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the system includes improved collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The updates also improve detection of bicycles and motorcycles, plus cross traffic visibility. Even so, the lane-keep assist can still feel a bit aggressive, so you should test it during a drive if that feature matters to you.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda’s 2025 update adds subtle styling and tech improvements while keeping the Civic’s core strengths intact.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,927, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $25,180 average.
• It offers a proven, enthusiast-friendly formula with a manual and strong everyday usability.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $27,014, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $25,180 average.
• It adds a more polished feel and broader lineup choices, including hybrid and sporty variants.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, updated features, and strong satisfaction, the 2025 is the smart default. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2024 can save you money while keeping much of the same appeal.
