How much does the 2025 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 13.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,641 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL stands out as a full-size SUV built around space, capability, and a wide range of powertrain choices. Its long-wheelbase design adds more room for third-row passengers and a great deal more cargo space behind them, which is the core of its appeal. For this model year, the base trim was renamed Yukon Elevation, and the lineup also included AT4, AT4 Ultimate, Denali, and Denali Ultimate versions, giving you a broad spread from rugged to luxurious.

The 2025 model also brought several notable updates. The AT4 Ultimate trim was added, the Denali Ultimate received woodland mahogany full-grain leather seating surfaces, and Night Vision became an option to help you detect people or animals in the dark. The infotainment system with Google Built-In was enlarged to 16.8 inches, and the optional Duramax turbo-diesel engine’s power rose from 277 to 305 horsepower. Those changes make the 2025 Yukon XL feel more modern and better equipped than before, especially if you want a large SUV with upscale features and advanced technology.

At the same time, the Yukon XL still carries some of the tradeoffs that come with a vehicle this size. The buying guide notes poor fuel economy and poor handling compared with car-based crossovers, so it is best suited to you if you truly need its spacious second- and third-row seating and extensive cargo capacity.

36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL is built around space, capability, and a wide range of powertrain choices, and it is aimed at buyers who need a large SUV with substantial passenger and cargo room. Its long-wheelbase layout is the defining strength, and the model year’s updates add more modern tech and a broader trim spread.

The same size and truck-based design that make it useful also mean you should expect the usual long-term ownership tradeoffs of a large SUV. For used buyers, that makes condition, maintenance history, and how the vehicle was driven especially important over the long haul.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re seriously considering, even when the market looks clean. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, brakes, tires, electronics, and interior wear, since a large SUV can hide expensive neglect if it has been used hard. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records as much as mileage, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for years.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but should still move quickly on the best listings.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,641 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $71,049, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $71,049 sits slightly below last year's $82,178.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim, since buyers will have plenty of comparable listings to choose from. If you keep the vehicle well maintained and present it cleanly, you’ll be in a better position to stand out when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.54% compared with last year.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2025 if you want the updated tech, expanded trim lineup, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If your main goal is to minimize upfront cost, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025 is the stronger pick when you want the newest features and still want to shop from a healthy pool of listings.
