How much does the 2025 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 12.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,520 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL stands out as a full-size SUV built around space, flexibility, and a wide spread of powertrain choices. Its long-wheelbase design adds more than a foot between the front and rear axles, which translates into extra room for third-row passengers and a larger cargo area. It also offers three powertrain options, all paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, including a standard 5.3L V8, an optional 6.2L V8, and an optional 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine.

That combination makes it appealing if you need a large SUV that can be configured for family duty, towing, or long-distance efficiency. For 2025, GMC also broadened the Yukon XL’s appeal with updates to the lineup and cabin, including a larger infotainment screen and available Night Vision.

The market shows 36.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you a meaningful number of value-oriented options to compare.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL is positioned as a premium, tech-forward large SUV with a broad spread of powertrain choices and a cabin focused on flexibility and utility. Its appeal comes from room, capability, and upscale features rather than simplicity.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied more to the complexity and size of the vehicle than to any single feature, so you should expect higher stakes when it comes to maintenance, repairs, and overall running costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re seriously considering, especially if you want to confirm title status and prior damage. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing because a large SUV like this can hide expensive wear in suspension, brakes, tires, and interior systems. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and evidence of heavy use, since the Yukon XL is often bought for family hauling and long-distance duty.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,520 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.74% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $72,713, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $72,713 sits slightly below last year's $83,327.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy with less risk of overpaying today. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your resale outcome will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the vehicle is equipped. Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than higher-mileage or heavily used ones.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.74% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the updated lineup, the expanded cabin tech, and a strong mix of space and capability in a single package. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may be the better path, especially if you can find a cleaner, lower-priced example with the equipment you want.
