How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 12.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,370 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu stands out as a roomy, value-oriented midsize sedan with a long history of improving refinement. For you, that means a practical family car with a spacious back seat, a comfort-first setup, and a price position that can undercut many rivals.

It also offers a broad spread of available equipment, and the final-generation Malibu is described as sleeker and more sophisticated than the model it replaced. The tradeoff is that it was still not as refined as the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord, and some versions were criticized for lackluster acceleration and a cheaper-feeling interior.

With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find a value-focused example.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu has a relatively strong reliability record compared with earlier Malibus. The final-generation cars are described as generally more reliable than earlier ones, which is a meaningful plus if you want a used sedan that should be easier to live with.

That said, you should still think about long-term ownership risk in the usual used-car way: condition, maintenance history, and how the car was driven matter a lot more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the car has been maintained consistently. Because this is a value-oriented sedan, a clean example with good records is the one most likely to deliver the ownership experience you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers: there’s enough inventory to shop carefully, but the best examples can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,370 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,601, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $19,601 sits slightly below last year's $22,323.

That decline suggests the Malibu is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can help you on the front end but may also limit how much value you recover later. If you plan to sell in a few years, the softer pricing trend means your resale outcome will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well you document maintenance.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.19% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 Malibu makes the most sense if you want a roomy, value-oriented midsize sedan and you can find a clean, well-priced example. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025 is the better starting point when you want the latest version of this final-generation Malibu.

How does the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu compare to the 2025 Toyota Camry?
