How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV cost?

Prices have softened 5.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,829 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV earns an expert rating of 6.5/10. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

It is built around affordability, comfort, and range, and that makes it especially appealing if you want an EV that feels practical rather than flashy. The Equinox EV offers more than 300 miles of range on a charge, and it is described as a strong value because its bottom line competes with non-electric SUVs.

The trade-offs are clear: it lacks typical EV performance and does not offer Apple CarPlay. That means you are getting a comfort-first, value-first crossover rather than a tech-forward or enthusiast-oriented one.

With 34.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV is presented as a practical everyday vehicle, with a comfortable ride and a cabin that is quieter than a gas-powered SUV. Its electric powertrain is described as smooth in operation, with confident braking and useful one-pedal driving behavior.

The performance notes also suggest a generally reassuring ownership experience: the front-drive version is quick enough for daily use, the AWD version is stronger, and the battery and charging setup are designed to support routine commuting and longer trips. The cost-effectiveness notes add that the model benefits from a desirable federal EV tax credit, which can make ownership easier to justify if you qualify.

Chevrolet also says the standard safety features behaved dependably in testing, with only a few isolated false alarms from the frontal collision warning system. For long-term used ownership, your biggest risk is less about the basic hardware and more about making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software-related features have been well cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one that has spent a lot of time on DC fast charging. Focus on overall condition, charging performance, and whether the cabin electronics and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level LT is the economical choice, and it does not feel stripped out. The RS adds larger wheels, blacked-out styling elements, red interior accents, and a few added convenience and safety packages.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a single 220-horsepower electric motor with front-wheel drive. Dual-motor all-wheel drive is available and increases output to 300 hp.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with steering intervention, automatic high beams, and GM’s safety alert seat. Active Safety Package 2 adds a surround-view camera system with rear pedestrian alerts, while Active Safety Package 3 adds a semi-automated parking system and Super Cruise.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in. Wireless charging is available, but Apple CarPlay is not offered.
• Range & charging: The front-drive version is estimated at up to 319 miles of range, the AWD version at 307 miles, and DC fast charging can add about 70 miles in roughly 10 minutes. The battery pack is 85 kWh.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, confirm normal home-charging and DC fast-charging behavior, and review how much of the battery warranty remains. A used EV should charge consistently, hold range well, and show no warning lights or charging faults.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV is offered in 2 trim levels: LT and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice if you want the core Equinox EV experience without paying extra for styling or add-ons. It gives you the economical starting point, the standard single-motor setup, and the features that make the model appealing in the first place.
• RS: Choose this if you want the sportier look, larger wheels, red interior accents, and the added convenience and safety packages that can be layered on. It is the better pick if you care more about appearance and available equipment than about keeping the price as low as possible.

The standard safety equipment is strong across the lineup, and the optional Active Safety Package 3 is the trim-level safety upgrade to look for if you want Super Cruise.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,829 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,238, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV's resale value?

The current average of $27,043 sits slightly below last year's $28,731.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to help used buyers, but not so much that it looks distressed. For a future seller, that means you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the Equinox EV is still positioned as a value-oriented electric crossover, well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than bare-bones or heavily used ones. If you buy carefully now, you can reduce the chance of taking an outsized hit later.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV earns five-star ratings in its overall rating, frontal crash, side crash, and rollover protection from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

All Equinox models come standard with frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with steering intervention, automatic high beams, and GM’s safety alert seat. Active Safety Package 2 adds a surround-view camera system with rear pedestrian alerts, while Active Safety Package 3 adds a semi-automated parking system and Super Cruise.

IIHS results are not yet available, so the strongest safety read comes from the NHTSA results and the standard driver-assistance equipment. The main caveat is that some of the more advanced safety and convenience features are optional rather than standard.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Prices have softened 5.87% compared with last year.
• It is a strong value because it focuses on affordability, comfort, and range.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $25,002, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $27,043 average.
• It is an all-new EV built from the ground up on GM’s Ultium platform.

The bottom line: If you want the better current-market balance of price, inventory, and used-car availability, the 2025 is the cleaner choice. If you are especially price-sensitive and want the lower average cost, the 2024 is worth a look.
