Is the 2024 Volvo S60 a good car?

The 2024 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s core strengths: safety, comfort, and a distinctly Scandinavian sense of style. It has long been positioned as an alternative to the usual German rivals, and this generation continues that role with a modern design, high-quality materials, and a cabin that emphasizes calm, understated luxury. Standard equipment is generous, with a panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen handling media and climate functions.

For you, that means the S60 makes the most sense if you want a premium sedan that feels thoughtfully designed and well equipped without chasing the sportiest driving experience in the class. The seats remain a major part of the appeal, and the available Contour seats are a notable highlight.

Is the 2024 Volvo S60 reliable?

The 2024 Volvo S60 leans into Volvo’s core strengths: safety, comfort, and a distinctly Scandinavian sense of style. Standard safety equipment is a major part of the package, and the cabin is built around a calm, premium feel with generous equipment and high-quality materials.

For used buyers, that makes the S60 a sensible choice if you value a safety-focused luxury sedan more than a performance-first one. Long-term ownership risk is best managed by staying on top of maintenance and verifying the condition of the car you’re considering.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and confirm the car’s service records before you commit. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment, and pay close attention to overall condition, electronics, and interior wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volvo S60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market: there’s enough inventory to shop carefully, but the best examples can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 689 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.43% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 90.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,948, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $30,891 sits slightly above last year's $30,159.

That kind of price movement suggests the 2024 S60 is holding value reasonably well in the used market. For a future seller, that can be a positive sign if you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition. It also means you may not see deep discounts on the cleanest examples, especially if they’re well equipped and priced near the lower end of the range.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.43% year-over-year.

The bottom line: The 2024 S60 is the right pick if you want a well-equipped, safety-focused luxury sedan with a distinctive feel and a healthy used-market supply. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth a look, especially if you can find a cleaner or better-equipped example at a lower asking price.
