Used 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan for Sale nearColumbus, OH

How much does the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

Prices have softened 7.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,396 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The Tiguan’s appeal comes from its premium look, standard safety technology, and practical value for shoppers who want a compact SUV with a more upscale feel. Volkswagen also makes more desirable safety tech standard for this model year, which strengthens its case if you want a well-equipped daily driver.

The trade-offs are clear: the driving experience is not especially rewarding, the throttle can feel irritating, and the seats are uncomfortable. You also do not get a hybrid option, so efficiency-focused shoppers may want to look elsewhere.

With 41.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market support for shoppers who want to negotiate.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tiguan’s reliability case is helped by its standard safety equipment and its warranty coverage, which adds ownership reassurance for used buyers. Volkswagen also includes scheduled maintenance and roadside assistance coverage on new models, which supports the model’s overall ownership value.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a well-equipped Tiguan can still be less satisfying if you are sensitive to throttle response, seat comfort, or fuel economy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are shopping higher-mileage examples or a trim with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, seat comfort, and whether the vehicle’s tech and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Tiguan S is the most stripped-down version, with grayscale color choices, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, and cloth seating surfaces. Moving up adds more comfort and convenience, while the top trim brings real leather, front-seat ventilation, and a heated steering wheel.
• Powertrain: Every 2024 Tiguan uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and 4Motion all-wheel drive is available on the lower trims.
• Safety package: IQ.DRIVE is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active blind-spot monitoring with steering intervention, Lane Assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist. It also includes rear cross-traffic alert, automatic post-collision braking, and forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking.
• Infotainment: The base trim gets a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while other trims use an 8-inch center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit System is standard, and the top trim gets the fully configurable 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro screen.
• Fuel efficiency: Front-wheel-drive models are rated at 27 mpg combined, while all-wheel drive drops the base model to 25 mpg combined. AWD sporty R-Line versions are rated at 24 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SE, SE R-Line, and SEL R-Line.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Tiguan’s standard turbocharged engine, standard safety tech, and basic infotainment. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is clearly the most bare-bones version.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds eight-way power driver’s seat adjustability, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone climate control, and a power tailgate. It also unlocks more color and configuration choices.
• SE R-Line: This trim adds a panoramic sunroof and brings a sportier appearance. If you want a more upscale look without jumping all the way to the top trim, this is the middle-ground choice.
• SEL R-Line: This is the most luxurious version, with real leather, front-seat ventilation, a heated steering wheel, three-position driver’s seat memory, and an eight-way power front passenger seat. It is the pick if comfort and features matter most.

Park Distance Control becomes standard at the SE R-Line Black trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan?

It’s a buyer-friendly moment if you want a compact SUV with a lot of inventory and meaningful deal potential.

• Deal availability: 41.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,396 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,857, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $24,435 sits slightly below last year's $26,379.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, trim, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the model has softened over the past year, a clean, well-kept example should be easier to position than one with visible wear or missing features. Strong presentation matters more when the market is already giving buyers leverage.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan safe?

The Volkswagen Tiguan earned a 2022 Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE suite is standard, and it brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active blind-spot monitoring with steering intervention, Lane Assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist. Standard equipment also includes rear cross-traffic alert, automatic post-collision braking, and forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking.

One trim-level note to keep in mind: Park Distance Control becomes standard at the SE R-Line Black trim level. The system’s judgment was noted as a bit lacking, and Maneuver Braking can feel intrusive.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 41.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It makes more desirable safety technology standard for the first time.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,267, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $24,435 average.
• It feels larger inside and offers a third row.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $30,105, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,435 average.
• It fixes the last generation’s user interface issues.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, standard safety tech, and market availability, the 2024 is the smart default. If your priority is spending less, the 2023 is the value play; if you want the newest redesign and can pay more, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
