Used 2024 Toyota Tacoma for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 2.89% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,585 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 from users, and the expert rating is 7.83/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2024 Tacoma is a ground-up redesign for the truck’s fourth generation, and it keeps the formula focused on durability, off-road ability, and standard advanced driver-assistance tech. It also moves to a turbocharged four-cylinder lineup and shares a platform with the larger Toyota Tundra, which gives it a more modern mechanical foundation.

The tradeoffs are clear: the cabin can be noisy, the manual-adjust seats can be troublesome, and the interior still leans functional even in the top trim. That makes it a better fit if you value capability and toughness more than luxury polish or quiet-road refinement.

35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tacoma’s overview emphasizes its excellent reputation for reliability, and the expert review reinforces that with a focus on Toyota’s durability-minded redesign. The new turbocharged four-cylinder setup and updated platform give you a more modern foundation without abandoning the truck’s long-running reputation for toughness.

The expert review also notes that the new powertrain is paired with smooth-shifting automatic behavior and improved steering feel, both of which support everyday dependability. Toyota’s cost-effectiveness notes also point to the brand’s reputation for longevity, which matters if you plan to keep the truck for the long haul.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about mechanical fragility and more about living with a truck that still prioritizes utility over comfort and refinement.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, especially if you’re shopping for a truck that may have seen towing, commuting, or trail use. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on wear items, cabin condition, and how well the truck’s features operate in real-world use. Pay close attention to the seats, interior materials, and any signs that the truck has been used hard rather than just driven.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR uses 17-inch steel wheels, while most trims move to 17-inch alloy wheels and TRD Sport and Limited get 18-inch alloys. The cabin is still function-first even in the top trim, so higher trims add equipment more than they transform the truck into a luxury vehicle.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque on most trims, while the base SR is tuned to 228 hp and 243 lb-ft. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both available, and the six-speed manual remains available, though the automatic is the easier transmission to live with.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it now includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Road-sign assist and an emergency stop system are also new, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8 inches, while higher trims get a 14-inch center display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Toyota’s Audio Multimedia system is responsive and legible.
• Fuel efficiency: The least-efficient version is expected to get 20 mpg combined, with the automatic and 4WD estimated at up to 21 mpg combined and FWD at 23 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Pre-Runner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it gives you the new turbocharged engine, standard 8-inch touchscreen, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. It makes sense if you want the redesigned Tacoma at the lowest starting point, but it also leaves you with the most basic wheel and cabin presentation.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without pushing you into the pricier specialty trims. It also benefits from the broader equipment spread that comes with the new generation, while keeping the Tacoma’s core capability intact.
• TRD Pre-Runner: Choose this if you want a more rugged-looking truck with a distinct identity, but you do not need the full off-road focus of the TRD Off-Road. It sits between the mainstream trims and the more specialized trail-oriented versions.
• TRD Sport: This trim adds sport-tuned shocks and 18-inch alloy wheels, so it is the pick if you want a more road-focused feel and a more upscale wheel setup. It suits buyers who want a sharper-looking Tacoma without moving into the top trim.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the trim to target if you care most about trail capability, since it gets monotube Bilstein shocks and leans into the Tacoma’s off-road strengths. It is the right choice if you want the truck’s rugged character to be front and center.
• Limited: This is the most comfort-oriented gas trim, with heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed seats and an available adaptive variable suspension. It is the best fit if you want the most features and the most polished ride, even though the cabin still stays more functional than luxurious.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,585 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,845, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $38,253 sits slightly below last year's $39,392.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has moved into a more buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it means the market is still supporting strong values, but not at the same level seen a year ago.

The Tacoma’s reputation for reliability and its strong demand among truck shoppers should continue to support resale strength. Even with the recent price dip, the model’s broad appeal and durable image help it hold buyer interest better than many rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma does not yet have official crash-test ratings from NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it now includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Road-sign assist and an emergency stop system are also new for 2024, and adaptive cruise control now offers four following-distance settings.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package. That means you should pay close attention to trim choice if safety tech is a priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a ground-up redesign, a new turbocharged engine lineup, and standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $36,147, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,253 average.
• It is a familiar, proven Tacoma with a strong reputation for bullet-proof reliability.

The 2024 is the better choice if you want the redesigned truck, the newer tech, and the more modern driving experience. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable with the older generation’s more dated feel, the 2023 can still make sense as the lower-cost path.
