The Toyota Camry is the quintessential family sedan, offering value, safety, comfort, and efficiency. Toyota electrified the car years ago with a frugal hybrid powertrain, and the Camry Hybrid remains a compelling option in the segment today. Though it’s not very exciting to drive, the car is tuned for comfort and efficiency, and it delivers both in spades. Though it’s not the quickest car on sale, the Camry Hybrid delivers up to 51 mpg in the city and a whopping 53 mpg on the highway in its most efficient configuration. Higher trims return slightly worse fuel economy of 44 mpg in the city and 47 mpg on the highway, still very strong efficiency numbers. ## Interior The Camry Hybrid offers seating for five on standard cloth upholstery. Higher trims add synthetic or genuine leather, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. There’s great space in both rows for adults to ride comfortably, and outward visibility for front passengers is excellent. That said, cargo space is just average, at 15.1 cubic feet. ## Technology Toyota equips a 7-inch touchscreen standard, but higher trims get a larger 9-inch unit and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. Toyota’s infotainment software feels a bit dated compared to competitors’ interfaces, but the displays are both bright and responsive. Menus are easy to understand and everything is clearly labeled for less distracting operation while driving. ## Safety The Toyota Safety System 2.5+ comes standard, bringing forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, lane keep assist, automatic high beams, road-sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control. All trims are available with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts, while higher trims get the tech as standard. ## Pricing Pricing for the 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE starts at $28,855. The SE Hybrid starts at $30,390, while the Nightshade Edition starts at $31,390. The top XSE Hybrid trim starts at $34,295.
