How much does the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Prices have softened 5.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,341 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek earns a 4.83/5 user rating, and our experts give it an 8/10 overall score. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its build quality, comfort, handling, fuel efficiency, safety features, and value for money. The overview also points to its standard all-wheel drive and versatile small-SUV packaging as key reasons it fits shoppers who want extra confidence in poor weather or on rougher roads.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the cheap-feeling interior materials. Even so, the Crosstrek’s mix of practicality and capability makes it a strong fit if you want a small crossover that feels more useful than many rivals.

With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting build quality and comfort alongside the Crosstrek’s strong safety reputation.

Our experts also note that Subaru has done an admirable job of packaging appealing features into every trim level, which supports the sense that this is a car built to be easy to live with over time. The standard all-wheel drive and broad utility add to that long-term appeal.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the Crosstrek’s core durability and more about choosing a well-kept example, especially if you want to avoid the weaker-feeling base powertrain and worn interior trim.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Crosstrek?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has seen rough-weather use. Focus on overall condition, especially the cabin materials and any signs that the vehicle has been used hard on dirt roads, snow, or other demanding surfaces.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base trim gets 17-inch alloy wheels, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and optional roof rails, while Premium, Sport, and Limited trims also benefit from standard roof rails. The Wilderness trim adds unique exterior and interior design elements, including more aggressive bodywork, StarTex synthetic leather, all-weather floormats, and a cargo-area LED light.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter engine makes 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, while the 2.5-liter engine makes 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. All versions use a CVT, and the manual transmission is no longer available.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight system is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. For 2024, it also uses a wider-angle lens, and automatic emergency steering is included on cars equipped with blind-spot monitoring.
• Infotainment: The 11.6-inch touchscreen is standard on all but the Base trim. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad is available across the lineup and standard on the Sport and Limited trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 27 mpg city, 34 highway, and 29 combined for the 2.0-liter engine, 26 city, 33 highway, and 29 combined for the 2.5-liter engine, and 25 city, 29 highway, and 27 combined for the Wilderness.

Which 2024 Subaru Crosstrek trim should I buy?

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is offered in 5 trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Wilderness.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Crosstrek’s core formula of standard all-wheel drive, 17-inch alloy wheels, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and the standard EyeSight safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it also misses the larger touchscreen and some of the nicer convenience features found higher up.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the larger 2.0-liter engine, paddle shifters, and the more useful infotainment setup while staying below the Sport and Limited on price. If you want a balanced Crosstrek without stretching too far, this is the trim to focus on.
• Sport: This trim steps up to the 2.5-liter engine and adds paddle shifters, making it a better choice if you want more power and a more complete feature set. It also gets the stronger X-Mode setup with mud and deep snow settings.
• Limited: This is the more upscale non-Wilderness choice, pairing the 2.5-liter engine with a richer equipment mix and the standard wireless charging pad. It suits you if you want the most polished everyday Crosstrek without going full off-road.
• Wilderness: This is the one to buy if you care most about off-pavement capability. It adds 9.3 inches of ground clearance, a ladder-style roof rack, more aggressive bodywork, a shorter final-drive ratio, and higher towing capacity, making it the clear pick for adventurous use.

EyeSight is standard across the lineup, and automatic emergency steering is included on cars equipped with blind-spot monitoring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Crosstrek?

The market looks moderate and selective, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,341 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,932, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $26,271 sits slightly below last year's $27,746.

That softer pricing suggests the model is more favorable for buyers today than it was a year ago, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect value when it’s time to sell. The Crosstrek’s broad appeal, standard all-wheel drive, and strong reputation for utility should continue to support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek safe?

The Subaru Crosstrek has been awarded a Top Safety Pick designation by the IIHS since 2013. It earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight safety system is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. For 2024, EyeSight uses a wider-angle lens, and automatic emergency steering is added on cars equipped with blind-spot monitoring.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds multiple engine options, a dazzling touchscreen, upgraded safety features, and a new Wilderness trim level that increases off-road capability.

The bottom line: The 2024 Crosstrek is the better pick if you want the updated third-generation model with stronger tech, improved safety features, and the Wilderness option. If you’re mainly shopping on price, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2024 gives you the most complete version of the Crosstrek formula.
