How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 5.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 983 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare trims, mileage, and condition.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating points to a strong ownership experience for this flagship luxury sedan. The 2024 S-Class leans heavily into technology, craftsmanship, and comfort, with second-generation MBUX, up to five screens, and a new 3D driver display that reinforces its role as Mercedes-Benz’s showcase for advanced features. It also adds meaningful hardware like rear-axle steering and a rear airbag system, while the S 500’s horsepower bump and the AMG S 63’s return broaden its appeal across luxury and performance use cases. With 35.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 S-Class is built around comfort, technology, and premium craftsmanship, which are the kinds of traits buyers usually expect from a flagship luxury sedan. Its advanced systems and high-end features help define the experience, but they also make the car more complex than a simpler used sedan. For a used buyer, that means long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about how well the car was maintained and equipped.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report to confirm title status, prior damage, and service consistency. Put inspection priority on the electronics, driver-assist features, and any option-heavy equipment, since this model’s advanced systems can be expensive to sort out later. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you’re considering a higher-spec example with more technology and performance hardware.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 983 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $113,811, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $115,627 sits slightly below last year's $122,618.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can work against a future seller if you buy at the wrong point in the range. On the other hand, the current spread still leaves room for well-kept examples to hold value better than average. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you improve your odds of recovering more of your purchase price later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $76,740, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $115,627 average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid powertrain with strong electric-range appeal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $122,563, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $115,627 average.
• It adds digital key functionality and a center airbag.

The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want the latest balance of tech, performance, and market availability without stepping up to the newer model year. If price is your top priority, the 2023 is the smarter path because it undercuts the current-year average by a wide margin while still delivering the S-Class experience.
