Used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale nearNewark, NJ

How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS cost?

Prices have softened 12.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,485 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

It is a large three-row luxury SUV that was refreshed for the year with minor styling modifications, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and a new version of its MBUX infotainment system. That combination makes it feel current without changing its core mission as a refined, premium family hauler.

The trade-offs are real: the AMG Line Package impedes entry and exit, third-row seat access is a challenge, and the touch-sensing controls may not suit everyone. Even so, the GLS still comes across as a desirable luxury SUV that emphasizes comfort, premium materials, and easy-to-use technology.

36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLS is presented as a well-rounded luxury SUV that combines comfort, premium interior materials, and easy-to-use technology with a refreshed equipment list for the year. Its performance notes also point to a smooth, quiet, and well-calibrated driving experience, which is the kind of character that usually supports confidence in daily use.

The expert evaluation also describes the GLS 450 powertrain as plenty strong for the job, with smooth acceleration and a mild-hybrid system that adds instant torque off the line. That kind of polished, low-stress behavior is a good sign for used buyers who want a luxury SUV that should feel composed over time.

If you buy used, your main long-term ownership risk is less about outright capability and more about whether the vehicle’s complex luxury features and touch-sensitive controls suit you.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially on a vehicle this expensive and feature-rich. Focus on how the cabin equipment works in real use, whether the controls feel intuitive to you, and whether the third row and entry/exit layout fit your needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLS 450 is the most affordable version and uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, while the GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600 move to a twin-turbo V8 with MHEV. The GLS 450 is the best-value starting point if you want the core luxury experience without stepping up to the pricier model series.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 delivers 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, with a nine-speed automatic and variable 4Matic all-wheel drive. Mercedes says it reaches 60 mph in 5.8 seconds, and the mild-hybrid system adds an instant 148 lb-ft of torque when you accelerate.
• Safety package: Safety comes standard, and the GLS includes more than 20 significant safety features. The driver-assistance systems can be adjusted through MBUX, including sensitivity and alert settings, and the suite includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist.
• Infotainment: The GLS uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, along with improved graphics, Classic, Sporty, and Discreet themes, and Navigation, Assistance, and Service modes. It also includes augmented reality navigation and a standard Burmester surround-sound system with Dolby Atmos technology.
• Fuel efficiency: The official fuel economy rating is 21 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS is offered in 4 trim levels: GLS 450, GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600.

Here's the short version:

• GLS 450: This is the best-value choice because it delivers the core GLS experience with the turbocharged inline-six, mild-hybrid assistance, smooth acceleration, and the same upscale cabin character that defines the model. If you want the most balanced entry point into the lineup, this is the one to start with.
• GLS 580: This trim steps up to the twin-turbo V8 with MHEV and is the natural move if you want more power and a more expensive, more indulgent version of the GLS formula.
• AMG GLS 63: This is the performance-oriented choice in the lineup, aimed at buyers who want the most aggressive powertrain character and the most extroverted version of the GLS.
• Maybach GLS 600: This is the ultra-luxury choice, for you if your priority is maximum prestige and the most lavish interpretation of the GLS.

Safety comes standard across the lineup, and the GLS’s driver-assistance systems can be adjusted through MBUX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

The market looks selective but workable if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,485 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.66% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $71,077, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $71,077 sits slightly below last year's $81,382.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, which can make it harder for a seller to command top dollar right away. If you own one now, the softer pricing environment means you may need to lean on condition, equipment, and mileage to justify a stronger asking price.

For future resale, the GLS still has advantages because it is a desirable luxury SUV with strong comfort, premium materials, and broad appeal across multiple model series. Those traits help support demand even when prices cool.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety comes standard, and the GLS includes a broad suite of advanced driver-assistance systems that you can adjust through MBUX. The system includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist, and the expert evaluation says these features work smoothly and transparently in real driving.

One caveat is that the lane-centering assist briefly turned off in a specific low-speed road situation during testing, so you should still treat the system as assistance rather than a substitute for attention.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year brings minor styling modifications, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and a new version of MBUX.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this GLS formula, the 2024 is the one to target because it adds useful updates without changing the SUV’s core strengths. If your priority is simply getting into a GLS for less money, a nearby year may be worth a look, but the 2024 stands out as the more current and better-equipped choice.
