Used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale near New Jersey

How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS cost?

Prices have softened 13.89% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,499 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The GLS is a large three-row luxury SUV that has been refreshed with minor styling changes, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and a new version of its MBUX infotainment system. That combination keeps it feeling current while preserving the core appeal of a comfortable, premium, tech-forward SUV.

The main trade-offs are that the AMG Line Package can impede entry and exit, third-row seat access is a limitation, and the touch-sensing controls may not suit everyone. Even so, it fits buyers who want a high-end family SUV that balances comfort, technology, and everyday livability.

36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLS is presented as a comfortable, premium SUV with easy-to-use technology and strong overall execution, and the expert evaluation describes its driving experience as quiet, quick, and well calibrated. Its powertrain is also described as smooth and silky, with the mild-hybrid system adding immediate torque off the line.

The technology and safety systems are also framed positively, with the infotainment system described as intuitive and the driver-assistance systems praised for subtle, transparent operation. Mercedes also highlights the GLS’s advanced safety and assistance features as standard equipment.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic competence and more about the complexity that comes with a highly equipped luxury SUV, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with advanced electronics and multiple comfort and convenience systems. Pay close attention to how the cabin, controls, and seating surfaces have held up, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on its premium feel and everyday usability.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLS 450 is the most affordable version, while the GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600 move up the range with more powerful twin-turbo V8 setups. The GLS 450’s comfort, premium materials, and easy-to-use technology make it the best-value starting point for many buyers.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, while the higher model series use a twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid assistance. The six-cylinder is described as smooth, silky, and strong enough that you may not need the extra power or added ownership cost of the V8.
• Safety package: Safety comes standard, and the SUV includes more than 20 significant safety features. The driver-assistance systems include forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist, with settings you can adjust through MBUX.
• Infotainment: The GLS uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, plus improved graphics, intuitive touchscreen operation, natural voice recognition, and augmented reality navigation. The touch-sensitive steering-wheel controls and center-console touchpad are worth testing carefully.
• Fuel efficiency: The official fuel economy rating is 21 mpg in combined driving, and the evaluation loop returned 19.9 mpg.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS is offered in 4 trim levels: GLS 450, GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600.

Here's the short version:

• GLS 450: This is the most affordable and best-value choice. It delivers the smooth turbocharged inline-six, strong comfort, premium materials, and the latest MBUX system without pushing you into the higher-cost V8 models.
• GLS 580: This step-up model is for you if you want more power and the twin-turbo V8 experience. It also stands out because it is the model series associated with the available Off-Road Package, which adds underbody protection, up to 1.2 inches of added ground clearance, and improved water fording capability.
• AMG GLS 63: Choose this if you want the performance-oriented version of the GLS lineup. It sits above the GLS 580 and is part of the higher-power V8 family.
• Maybach GLS 600: This is the top luxury-focused choice if you want the most exclusive version of the GLS lineup and are shopping for maximum prestige and comfort.

The safety package is standard across the GLS lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance coverage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and enough deal activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,499 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $69,158, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $69,158 sits slightly below last year's $80,317.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also mean a future seller has less room to recover value quickly. If you plan to resell later, the GLS’s strong luxury positioning and broad appeal should help, but depreciation is still part of the equation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a Top Safety Pick+ designation from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety comes standard, and the GLS includes a broad suite of advanced driver-assistance systems that can be adjusted through MBUX. The system includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist, and the expert evaluation says these features operate subtly and smoothly.

One caveat is that the lane-centering assist briefly turned off in a specific low-speed intersection scenario during testing, though the system otherwise handled the route without trouble.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year brings minor styling changes, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and a new version of MBUX.

The bottom line: The 2024 GLS is the right pick if you want the refreshed version with current tech, strong safety, and a broad range of trims. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2024 gives you a compelling mix of updates and market softness.
