Used 2024 Lexus RX for Sale nearVirginia Beach, VA

How much does the 2024 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 6.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,926 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The RX’s core appeal is clear in the data: it emphasizes comfort, luxury, quietness, and fuel efficiency. That makes it a strong fit if you want a refined daily driver rather than something tuned for excitement. The trade-offs are just as clear: it is not especially engaging to drive, and its styling may not land with everyone.

Two notable drawbacks stand out. First, the performance is described as fairly pedestrian, especially compared with rivals. Second, some interior materials feel cheap, which can undercut the upscale impression in places.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 37.3% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX is presented as a comfort-first luxury SUV with a quiet cabin and a focus on refinement, which generally aligns with the kind of ownership experience many used buyers want. The expert evaluation also points to strong fuel efficiency and a calm, polished driving character, both of which can make day-to-day ownership feel easy.

Its dependability story is helped by the fact that the powertrain lineup is straightforward for the class, with a conventional gasoline setup at the core of the model range. The ownership risk for used buyers is less about complexity than about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and still feels tight, quiet, and free of wear-related issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lexus RX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with a strong share of clean listings, you should still run a history report and verify that the vehicle’s condition matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear, since comfort-focused luxury SUVs can hide expensive cosmetic or mechanical issues. Pay close attention to cabin condition, electronics, and how quietly the vehicle drives, because those are the areas most likely to affect your ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base RX 350 starts the lineup, while the Premium trim adds parking proximity sensors and the Luxury trim adds a head-up display. The top Luxury trim also brings a more upscale cabin presentation, including faux suede inserts in the seats, doors, and roof pillars.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, while the RX 350h hybrid uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 246 hp and 233 lb-ft. The RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid adds a larger battery and increases output to 304 hp, and the RX 500h F Sport Performance is the most powerful version at 366 hp and 406 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear passenger safe-exit system. Parking proximity sensors are added on the Premium trim, while the Luxury trim adds a head-up display.
• Infotainment: Lower trims use a 9.8-inch touchscreen, while other models get a 14-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also supports cloud-based navigation, though that service is subscription-based after the trial period.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 is estimated at 25 mpg combined in FWD form and 24 mpg combined with AWD. The RX 350h is estimated at 36 mpg combined, while the RX 450h+ is estimated at 35 mpg combined and can travel up to 37 miles on electric power alone.

Which 2024 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lexus RX is offered in 4 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350h, RX 500h F Sport Performance, RX 450h+.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RX experience with the turbocharged 2.4-liter engine, a comfortable ride, and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and do not need hybrid efficiency.
• RX 350h: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds hybrid efficiency and standard AWD while keeping the RX’s comfort-first character. If you want the strongest balance of fuel economy and everyday usability, this is the trim to focus on.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance: This is the choice if you want the most power and the sportiest setup in the lineup. It is the trim to consider if performance matters more to you than maximum efficiency.
• RX 450h+: This is the plug-in hybrid option, and it is the right pick if you can regularly charge at home or work and want the longest electric-only driving capability in the lineup.

All RX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, while Premium adds parking proximity sensors and Luxury adds a head-up display.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,926 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,167, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $49,167 sits slightly below last year's $52,605.

That price movement suggests the RX has become a bit more buyer-friendly in the near term, which can help you if you are shopping now. For a future seller, it means you should expect some pressure on resale if the market continues to favor buyers. Even so, the RX’s comfort-first appeal and strong demand profile should help it remain attractive to used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX safe?

The 2024 Lexus RX earns five-star ratings in overall and side collision protection and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover tests from NHTSA. The IIHS awarded it Good ratings in all crashworthiness evaluations except the moderate frontal overlap test, where it received Poor, and it was named a Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the lineup and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear passenger safe-exit system. Parking proximity sensors are added on the Premium trim, and the Luxury trim adds a head-up display. Other available features include a digital rearview mirror, a surround-view camera system, a semi-automated parking system, and a highway driving assist system that combines adaptive cruise and lane centering.

One caveat is the poor IIHS result in the moderate frontal overlap test, which is worth keeping in mind if crash-test performance is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2024 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers a comfort-first, fuel-efficient luxury SUV experience with strong safety results.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $45,731, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $49,167 average.
• The redesigned RX balances refinement, technology, and everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market availability, accident-free inventory, and a well-rounded ownership experience, the 2024 is the better starting point. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in excellent condition and with the equipment you want.
