Used 2023 Lexus RX for Sale nearVirginia Beach, VA

How much does the 2023 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 6.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,927 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating, the 2023 Lexus RX lands as a strong choice if you want a comfortable, premium-feeling two-row midsize luxury SUV with impressive technology. The redesign keeps the RX’s familiar upscale formula while adding enough modern touches to feel fresh, and it is aimed squarely at buyers who value refinement and everyday usability.

The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the standard suspension can feel unsettled on imperfect pavement, cargo space is limited, and the head-up display integration is poor. Even so, the RX’s polished interior and calm, upscale driving character make it a compelling fit if you care more about comfort than maximum practicality.

36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX’s reputation is reinforced by its focus on refinement, comfort, and a premium-feeling cabin, and the expert evaluation describes it as a well-balanced luxury SUV with strong everyday appeal. Its turbocharged 2.4-liter engine is presented as a good choice for the model, and the available all-wheel-drive setup and upgraded suspension on F Sport Handling help broaden its capability.

The infotainment and driver-assistance tech also point to a modern ownership experience, with Lexus Interface and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 adding convenience and protection. If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing a well-kept example that avoids the ride-quality and usability compromises noted on some versions.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus RX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same thing as problem-free listings. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on suspension behavior, interior condition, and how the technology works in real use. Pay close attention to whether the vehicle feels composed over rough pavement and whether the cabin features operate cleanly and intuitively.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Standard trim gives you the core RX experience, but the Premium, Premium+, Luxury, and F Sport Handling trims add more equipment and a more upscale or more controlled driving feel. The base setup is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about ride quality tuning or richer features.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is described as a good choice overall, with slightly better fuel economy than the outgoing V6.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it includes motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, and curve speed reduction with adaptive cruise control. Proactive Driving Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Advanced Park Assist also debut, though some functions can be awkward to use in practice.
• Infotainment: Lexus Interface uses a 9.8-inch or 14-inch touchscreen and includes wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and over-the-air connected services. It also supports user profiles, voice control, and available digital key smartphone technology.
• Fuel efficiency: Lexus expected 25 mpg combined for the front-wheel-drive RX 350 and 24 mpg combined for the all-wheel-drive version, while testing returned 22.5 mpg and 21.8 mpg, respectively.

Which 2023 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lexus RX is offered in 5 trim levels: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, and F Sport Handling.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point to the RX lineup, so it makes sense if you want the redesigned cabin, standard safety tech, and the core luxury-SUV experience without stretching the budget. It is the trim most likely to feel basic relative to the richer versions above it.
• Premium: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value, since it adds meaningful comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the top of the range. For many shoppers, this is the best-value choice.
• Premium+: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for extra amenities that move the RX closer to a true luxury experience. It is a good middle ground if you want more than the basics but do not need the most expensive trim.
• Luxury: This trim is for you if you want the most polished, comfort-focused RX 350 experience, especially if you care about a richer cabin and a more premium overall presentation. It is the right pick when comfort matters more than price.
• F Sport Handling: Pick this if you want the most controlled driving feel in the RX 350 lineup, since it adds AWD and adaptive damping suspension. It is the trim for buyers who want the RX to feel more secure and sure-footed, especially on winding roads.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus RX?

The market looks moderately favorable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,927 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,731, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $45,731 sits slightly below last year's $48,742.

That softer pricing suggests the RX is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you enter ownership at a better starting point. For a future seller, that also means the market may still be adjusting to the redesigned model, so condition, mileage, and trim choice will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Because the RX is positioned as a premium, comfort-first SUV with strong technology and broad appeal, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. If you buy carefully now, you can improve your odds of holding value later by choosing a desirable trim and keeping the vehicle in clean condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX safe?

The 2023 RX earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2023 RX also gets Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 (LSS+ 3.0), a robust collection of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS). It contains motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, and a curve speed-reduction function when using adaptive cruise control.

It also adds Proactive Driving Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Advanced Park Assist. Those features broaden the RX’s safety and convenience story, but some of them can be awkward in practice, especially when HUD-related controls are hard to read with polarized sunglasses.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a fresher cabin, more technology, and a more modern overall feel.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $38,992, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $45,731 average.
• It is a carryover model with minimal changes and a comfort-first character.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $49,167, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $45,731 average.
• It leans harder into comfort, luxury, and fuel efficiency.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around path if you want the redesigned RX with modern tech and strong market availability. If price matters most, the 2022 is the smarter value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer model-year alternative.
