How much does the 2024 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

With 7,756 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Tucson earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its great features, sleek design, and value for money, and many also like the spacious interior and modern technology. That lines up with the Tucson’s use case as a well-rounded compact SUV that gives you good passenger and cargo space, refined cabin styling, and a practical feature set without asking you to chase a niche specialty.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the infotainment system can be frustrating, and the powertrain is described as disappointing even though it can feel energetic in some situations. Even so, the Tucson’s broad appeal and strong equipment list make it a sensible choice if you want an SUV that covers a lot of ground.

With 37.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to find a competitive price.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on its value, features, and modern technology. That kind of response usually suggests you can count on the Tucson to deliver a trouble-free ownership experience if it’s been maintained properly.

Hyundai backs the Tucson with a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, which adds another layer of confidence for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s basic durability and more about finding one that has been cared for consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Tucson?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any Tucson you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you’re shopping higher-mileage examples or a trim with more equipment, since you’ll want to confirm that the tech, safety systems, and interior features all work as expected. Focus on overall condition, service records, and how well the cabin and controls have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE gives you 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, while the SEL adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and wireless device charging. The XRT adds unique black 19-inch wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, and functional roof racks, and the Limited brings a dark chrome grille, upgraded headlights, and a more upscale cabin.
• Powertrain: Every non-hybrid Tucson uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It’s fine for around-town driving, but it can feel strained when you ask for quick highway passing.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Limited adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Smart Park remote-parking, and a blind-spot camera system.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. SEL Convenience, XRT, and Limited trims upgrade to a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a fully digital instrument panel, but those versions lose wireless smartphone connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model returns 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined, while the all-wheel-drive version returns 23 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Tucson trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Tucson is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the Tucson’s core strengths without stretching your budget. You get the standard 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus the basic safety and convenience equipment that makes the Tucson feel well equipped right away.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, and two extra USB ports. If you want a nicer daily experience without jumping to the pricier upper trims, this is the one to target.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the Tucson’s more rugged-looking appearance and the added equipment from the SEL Convenience Package, including synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a fully digital instrument panel, and a larger touchscreen with navigation. It’s the style-forward choice in the lineup.
• Limited: This is the most luxurious Tucson, with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose premium stereo system, and memory settings for the driver’s seat. It also adds the most advanced parking and camera features.

The Limited also gets the extra safety and parking tech mentioned above, while the rest of the lineup sticks with the standard driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Tucson?

The market looks moderate and selective, so you have some leverage if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,756 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,543, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $23,578 sits slightly below last year's $23,709.

That small decline suggests the Tucson is holding value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply up or down. For a future seller, that usually points to a market that remains predictable, which can make it easier to price your vehicle competitively when it’s time to move on.

The Tucson’s broad appeal helps here: shoppers tend to respond well to its space, safety, and value story, which supports demand in the used market. A clean history and strong condition should matter more than chasing a dramatic price spike.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson safe?

The 2024 Tucson earns Good ratings in most IIHS crash-test phases and an Acceptable rating for its standard headlights. It also earns five-star ratings in a frontal crash test and four-star ratings in a rollover test from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Limited trim adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Smart Park remote-parking, and a blind-spot camera system.

The main caveat is that the standard headlights are not as strong as the rest of the safety package, so you should pay attention to how the vehicle is equipped if nighttime driving matters a lot to you.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 Tucson is a well-rounded compact SUV that blends good value, strong safety equipment, and a spacious cabin into a practical package.

The bottom line: If you want a used Tucson that feels current, well equipped, and easy to shop for, the 2024 model is a strong primary target. If your main goal is to save money, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2024’s stable pricing, solid inventory, and strong owner satisfaction make it an easy year to recommend.
