Summary
With 7,628 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,614, 34.2% of 2024 Hyundai Tucsons for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Hyundai Tucson stands out as a well-rounded compact SUV that blends a lot of what modern shoppers want into an athletic, contemporary package. It is described as a good value, with good passenger and cargo space, refined cabin styling, and an attractive price tag. The Tucson also packs tons of safety features, which adds to its appeal for buyers looking for a practical small SUV that feels thoughtfully equipped.
Its strengths are balanced by a few drawbacks. The turbocharged powertrain is called energetic, but the overall powertrain is also described as disappointing, so performance may not be its strongest suit. The infotainment system can be frustrating, and the shifter controls in Limited models have a learning curve. Even so, the Tucson’s combination of space, tech, safety, and value makes it a compelling choice for shoppers who want an SUV that covers a lot of ground without trying to be overly specialized.

The car has great features, I wish it had more compartments. It needs somewhere to put your sunglasses. I also drove the Santa fe. It was really nice but also so much more now with the upgraded body.

I love the features of this car. It has everything I want and more. I love the sleek design. It’s a great price for its value. I’ve had no issues so far. The only complaint I have is the visor lighting is very poor, but that’s a very minor complaint.

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Tucson cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $23,611 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,542 |
| Year-Round High | $24,123 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $24,122 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.12% |
Prices have softened 2.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 7,714 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy range of choices.
Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson a good car?
Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Tucson earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its great features, sleek design, and value for money, and many also like the spacious interior and modern technology. On the downside, some owners mention missing compartments and poor visor lighting.
That lines up with the broader use case: you’re looking at a well-rounded compact SUV that emphasizes value, passenger space, cargo space, and a refined cabin rather than one standout specialty. The trade-offs are a frustrating infotainment system and a powertrain that doesn’t feel especially strong in everyday passing or highway merging.
Good and great deals account for 34.8% of listings, which is a decent sign that you can still find competitive pricing.
Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on features, design, and value that hold up over time. The expert evaluation also reinforces that impression by describing the Tucson as a well-rounded SUV with a comfortable cabin, helpful technology, and strong safety coverage.
Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty adds another layer of ownership confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and whether you can live with its weaker powertrain and infotainment quirks.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Tucson?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear, and pay close attention to cabin condition, control operation, and how the vehicle feels on a test drive.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The SE comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails, while the SEL Convenience Package adds 19-inch alloy wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a fully digital instrument panel, and a larger touchscreen with navigation. The XRT adds unique black 19-inch alloy wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, functional roof racks, and features from the SEL Convenience Package as standard equipment. The Limited adds a dark chrome grille and upgraded headlights, plus ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose premium stereo system, and memory settings for the driver’s seat.
- Powertrain: The Tucson uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It is the only non-hybrid powertrain offered, and the expert evaluation says it can feel underwhelming when you need stronger acceleration.
- Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Limited adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Hyundai’s Smart Park remote-parking feature, and a blind-spot camera system.
- Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. The SEL Convenience Package, XRT, and Limited trims move to a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a fully digital instrument panel, but they lose wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model returns 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined. The all-wheel-drive model returns 23 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.
Which 2024 Hyundai Tucson trim should I buy?
The 2024 Hyundai Tucson is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus two USB ports, remote keyless entry, a manually adjustable driver’s seat, HD radio, power windows, and roof rails. If you want the lowest entry price and the most straightforward infotainment setup, this is the trim to start with.
- SEL: This is the best-value upgrade if you want more everyday comfort without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, and two more USB ports, and it can be paired with the Convenience Package for a more upscale feel.
- XRT: This is the style-and-equipment step-up, with unique black 19-inch wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, and functional roof racks. It also gets the SEL Convenience Package features as standard, so it makes sense if you want a more rugged look and more content without going all the way to the top trim.
- Limited: This is the most luxurious and feature-rich version, with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose premium stereo system, memory settings for the driver’s seat, and the most advanced parking tech. It also comes with the button-style shifter, so make sure you’re comfortable with that layout before you buy.
The Limited also adds the most advanced safety and parking features, including front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Smart Park, and a blind-spot camera system.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Tucson?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and comparison-shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 7,714 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.12% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,542, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?
The current average of $23,611 sits slightly below last year's $24,122.
That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may also mean a future seller has less pricing power than a year ago. The current range still suggests steady demand, though, especially for well-kept examples with clean history and desirable equipment.
If you maintain the vehicle well and keep it accident-free, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson safe?
The 2024 Tucson earns Good ratings in most IIHS crash tests, an Acceptable rating for its standard headlights, and a Superior rating for crash-prevention technology. It also earns five-star ratings in the frontal crash test and four-star ratings in rollover testing from NHTSA.
It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Limited trim adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Hyundai’s Smart Park remote-parking feature, and a blind-spot camera system. That means lower trims are already well equipped, but the top trim gives you the most confidence when parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.
Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.12% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2024 model combines a well-rounded cabin, strong safety coverage, and a broad trim spread with standard wireless smartphone integration on the base trim.
The bottom line: If you want the Tucson’s current mix of value, safety, and everyday usability, the 2024 is the one to target. If you’re shopping mainly on price, you may also want to compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-equipped example you can find rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
